Advance bookings only, are these successful?
« on: 20 January 2019, 02:36:58 pm »
How many of you only do advance bookings where they need to give you 24hrs or more notice for a booking? Is it successful or do you still need to wait by the phone for calls from guys who want to see you straight away? Does it cut the timewasters out doing advance bookings?

I ask as I had a terrible year last year and just wasted too many hours sitting waiting on calls which were mainly from idiots who didnt even book but just asked me question after question, so this year I'm looking for a different way of operating and would rather only do advance bookings to avoid all that time-wasting for sod all pay off.

Central London I used to get a lot of advanced and actively encourage them to book advanced
Now I find less and less advance bookings and more on the day/last min
Unfortunately this has made me have to change the way i work to accommodate them and whilst not my preferred, im getting more used to last min etc
Maybe offer a discount or incentive to book in advance
Some guys do like planning ahead but for.me at least it's getting much rarer
Not sure why but one thing I notice is less regs are staying over in london anymore as their company has cut the hotel budget so they might not be as inclined to make an advanced booking
Good luck anyway advanced bookings are great when you can get them and rarely do I find they fall through as long as the client follows the instructions you set and if you are pro active to move on and plan something else if they don't

I have one website where I allow advance online booking for up to 2 weeks, with a non-returnable deposit of £25. Works ok. Only had a couple cancellations in years. But these clients are super reliable planners. That might solve your 'waiting anxiety' a bit.

My other website and AW encourages bookings within the hour, without a deposit which seems to work fine most of the time due to confirmation rituals that wasters don't have the patience to do.

I would do advance booking only for Saturday's because I got sick of hanging around and there was much less on-the-day bookings. I offered this at a reduced rate, worked well.

This may just be my experience but the minute I gave the allure of being believably busy with very little availability on the day, I found that clients would book in advance and I rarely have to rely on last minute "I'll be there within the hour" bookings.

Nearly all my bookings are advance only and always works well. Client will very rarely cancel.
Only two cancellations last year.
I only do outcalls, so maybe that is key - who knows.
Also do some last minute and works well.
Mostly all regulars but a few newbies.
Had a newbie last night and he was just so lovely - booked 2 weeks in advance.
He was damn gorgeous too and knew from our communication he was going to be totally reliable, didn't realise he was going to be adorable too!!!

I think it depends on what you're offering and where you are.

If you're doing 15/30 minute quickies in a city centre, then doing advance bookings only isn't going to work - it's simply not the 'horny, now' market you're in.

If you're doing 2+ hour outcalls somewhere smaller, then you're unlikely to have many callers wondering if you're available now.

The more reasons you have for someone booking you rather than some other independent / calling some agency / visiting a brothel, the more likely it is that advance bookings only will work.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

I think it depends on what you're offering and where you are.

Spot on! I work in a smallish town and offer domme sessions where it's usually advanced bookings. They're also longer bookings too. Last minute GFE ones are usually shorter  :)

I found short notice just as unreliable as advance, and didn't really fit with my not sitting around waiting but can be flexible lifestyle - nor low population density location.

Even when away from base, in busy cities I work on advance bookings sometimes up to several months ahead. Once again however I'm usually there for other commitments, photoshoots, courses or conferences so need to know in advance.

What I do do is have a definite confirmation time, and these days apply the same deposit system I do for anywhere and any booking bar reliable regulars I've seen a lot of or recently.

50% or more of my bookings are advanced. I do a discount on advanced bookings. It really helps organise your day and even week once you know you have a couple of sessions booked already.

95% of my bookings are advanced and I have a very low cancellation rate.
I only offer incalls 2 days a week, the rest is outcall only. I list on my incall and outcalll days on my profile along with locations as I move around for I incalls.
Naturally as I started building regulars in each location, they started booking me in advance so they were sure they’d get the chance to see me as I’m only in one location for two days.

For outcalls I find most of these are prebooked but that may be because I don’t show my number on AW and only accept outcalls booked through AW. That probably deters the punters that are trying to make a quick booking.

I market myself as having limited availability which encourages clients to book in advance.

The only time I take on the day bookings is when I’m on tour and happen to have availability. So I’ll display my number and hope for the best. But I have to be in the mood for it as I really hate taking last min bookings now.

I don’t offer 30mins because I don’t want to attract passing trade that are after a quick shag. I prefer longer bookings and ideally I prefer 2hrs plus. Although I do offer 1hr as these help fill in my gaps.
I am also slighter higher priced than the average which I think also helps attract the kind of clients that are more likely to pre plan their bookings.

I think if you market yourself towards the kind of clientele you want, you’ll get it.

Swings and roundabouts!

Some advanced bookers can still cancel on the day but I have a process of confirmation which helps - asking them to confirm say 2 days before and then on the morning by 10am so if they don't you can take other bookings or do something else.

If I am at home and not deep in something I will take short notice bookings and that works well too, but equally some of these cancel too but still stick with a confirmation process so, if they call at 10am for a 1pm booking I ask them to confirm an hour before.

I do get a lot of calls from men expecting me to be there and ready for them in half an hour, which puts me off because they probably just want any old hole to stick it in and are less nice than the clients I wish to see or are just assumptious that I am sitting abit waiting for them! Also, I don't want to encourage the fact I am easily available - is part of training them to give me notice which is always preferrable even if it's only an hour or twos notice.

At the moment I’m finding a high rate of time waster fodder for my advance bookings so reluctantly I am having to change my work pattern to better accommodate same day, and offering a deal on prebookings but only to those who have AW feedback etc (it’s not perfect as an insurance but it’s something) I have a feeling that I may often be the plan b option of clients, like who they call if the prebooking lets them down or they get second thoughts on their first pick, like a robin reliant of whores, which doesn’t bode so well for prebooking.  It’s just a sense I get and from things clients have said. I think it really depends on who you are and what you offer.
