I would start with a few hotel days to see what the demand is like, and whilst I'm doing them work out
exactly what it's going to cost to rent a flat (plus what you need for home too) and from that you know your 'break even' point, can work out how much you actually need to earn and then decide how you're going to earn it

Hotels are expensive and restrict the times you can work, but mean you're not having to commit yourself to anything beyond the following lunchtime. Flats are cheaper and you've got more freedom to work when you want, but obviously if you're signing up for six months or more you have to be able to pay and it's far more important to pick the right place (there's a lot on here about choosing incall flats already).
If you try the hotel idea and find you like doing incalls (and you're outside London), I'd start thinking about a flat, but do your maths
