So now I'm pretty angry and kicking myself for refunding him. What would anyone else have done?

As you know yourself most men do show signs before they are about to cum, most even tell you but there are occasional silent ones who show no signs what so ever. Regardless of this, they KNOW they are about to cum otherwise why the hell would they bother if they don't feel orgasms?

So with this in mind, I would be furious too as it's just pushing boundaries and complete disrespect for you, that's probably his kink actually so once he had came, he was quite happy to leave anyway no doubt.

I don't do half hour bookings, the minimum I take to invite someone into my home to then get intimate with is my hourly fee so I would be reluctant to refund any money especially if he got something from me that NONE of my clients get.

If for whatever reason I'm not enjoying myself, say it's just a really cold disconnected client or someone really creepy etc then I will usually just put up with it for the hour and then block them from future bookings however if they book me for longer than one hour then I will without hesitation refund them the rest of their money and keep my hourly fee rather than have any confrontation about them feeling ripped off for time they never got.

So if I did offer half hour appointments (like the OP) then I would have given him the remaining money back too just to save any hassle and just cut your losses but I can understand how frustrating it is.

I'm really sorry this happened to you  - it's happened to me too and it's performing a sex act without prior consent so to me, it's a form of rape.

Don't beat yourself up about handing him some money back - clearly you felt uncomfortable. If he was halfway decent he wouldn't have accepted it anyway. Best to bar him and move on (or post a warning if you think it necessary).

Or better still, spit it in his face so he knows what it's like to be abused. They do it on purpose. Had a guy do it to me & look really smug with himself afterwards. I stopped OWO after that. I think sometimes professionalism has to go out of the window in these circumstances.

Don't kick yourself too much for handing half the money back you just wanted him gone quickly without a fuss so you acted safely.
