Ever heard of molluscum?

Hi everyone...

Just wondering if anybody has ever caught molluscum, and if you had any tips on getting rid of them and especially the scarring. I am on my second outbreak in this year alone, and I've already been to the doctor 3 times now in order to get rid of them completely. They applied liquid nitrogen.  Many have faded, but there are a few stubborn ones that won't go. 

Obviously they're a huge nuisance because I can't work when I'm in this condition! Are there creams you could recommend that will make them heal faster as well as cover up much of the scarring?

It's virus that's to blame and they're always difficult to stop.

It's not necessarily sexually transmitted and it's a fairly common virus to have - most primary schools will have pupils with it who've caught it off someone their age, for example.

The spots can get infected quite easily. Being itchy doesn't help, because people scratch them and bacteria get into the slight cuts = they become itchier. You may find an anti-bacterial cream helps reduce that and helps make the spots a lot less noticeable.

It depends on how bad an attack you're having and where the spots are, but you could work with it.

It's not that bad at all, but I've gone back to work when I was about 90% healed and a client stopped the session because he was nervous about catching something. I told him straight up it was mollscum and harmless, but he had this wan look on his face. So that really had an effect on me.

I can imagine. It's never nice to be told, by word or look, that you're toxic.

Assuming it covers them, is wearing a corset or similar an option?

I hate to say this but he was right to stop the booking as even 90% healed they would have still been a risk to him. They are after all contagious and although harmless not something anyone would really want to contract and take home to spread around their family via towels etc
