A quick reminder not to click on links or attachments that say they're from HMRC and you haven't paid your VAT bill or are due a refund.

Favourite so far wants me to click to visit hmrc.claimsgov.online gov.uk - spot the missing dot...

Good reminder Ian. Genuine emails from HMRC never include a link of any kind. If it has a link it's definitely fake!

I've also noticed a high level of mails coming through stating pretending to be paypal. The way they get you to open is by sending you a mail saying "thank you for your transaction in the value of X" Obviously to get you to click on the link and put in your password.

I've been getting a ton of these!!  ???  I find the best thing to do is to check the email address it's coming from because more often and not it's coming from somewhere like sports direct!   :o

Ive had one from HMRC saying I'm entitled to a refund and also one from Swansea saying I'm due a car tax refund.
