The effect of only escorting on your CV
« on: 14 October 2020, 05:42:29 pm »
Hi guys. I’m a post grad student, and until recently I had another job.
I have been balancing this job with my studies, but I’m finding my studies increasingly overwhelming and I am considering moving to part-time.
I’m concerned about the impact that this could have on my CV!
I want to apply for a doctorate or jobs in my profession after my masters.
Does anyone have any experience with explaining away gaps on cv?

Look let me tell you something. I used to have hang ups about gaps in my CV too till I realised a couple months of fake experience isn’t the worst thing ever.

If you’d been escorting exclusively for a decade with no other experience that might be harder to lie about in a CV.

But I’ve lied on my CV plenty of times. Not that it’s good but if you know you are capable of doing the job then I don’t see the problem in telling a little bit of a fib. Just once you have a back story. Once they hired you no ones going to give a shit about what your experience was prior to starting your new job.

Like think about it really. How many times have you started a new job and you’re shown the ropes anyway new and clean immediately even when they said they wanted some experience. And when has anyone actually asked you about what you’ve been doing?

All you have to say is you were volunteering for a few months or you were doing an unpaid internship. Really don’t over complicate and fuss about it. The only person holding yourself back is you.

Also a good idea is to get a trustworthy friend to vouch for you in terms of using a fake reference. I did it before for my friend when she needed a reference from a landlord. That or else tell them the particular employer isn’t allow to issue references by call and only by written letter. You’d be surprised about how many companies don’t allow references over the phone anymore.
