Title: "Landlord" - Have any Leeds ladies had any experience with this man?
Post by: BJC on 30 June 2014, 08:17:09 pm
I'm not sure if this belongs in the Q & A section; mods please move if needed.

A guy contacted me today asking if I need an apartment to rent (for incalls) - I've mentioned that I'm currently looking for a place on my AW profile. He apparantly has several to rent in various areas of Leeds, and of course he just so happens to have exactly what I'm looking for. Sounds a bit too good to be true!
I asked about how hed like to be paid and he said cash monthly, I said I'd prefer bank transfers and a rent agreement we both sign for both our security. Straight away he said "well if you want to do it that way I'll need I d and references etc, what's your real name?"- alarm bells! Of course I'm expecting to provide these anyways, it just seems strange that he wouldn't want these things for a cash transaction? Or maybe I read it wrong I don't know. I just replied that I'd preder to actually see the apartment before providing my full real name, which I'd do when signing agreements etc anyways.
I asked him to email me some photos of this apartment but he's asked if id meet to discuss. I asked if hed clarify what kind of meeting he had in mind- "you can meet me at the apartment babe I've just bought it, or were you thinking of a sexy meet?"
Am I being cynical? Anyway here's his number, any Leeds ladies had similar offers from this man?

He says he hasn't any pics to mail me as he's just bought it.

Personally I wouldn't be looking for or or even mentioning an Incall flat on AW, as you will just end up attracting creeps who ccould end up blackmailing you or something.

It would maybe be different if it was just somewhere for a few days or a week but not for an actual longterm place

It seems fairly common for men to have the idea that they ought to rent a room to a hooker. They seem to have the idea that they'll get some extra benefit from it.

If you are going to be doing it by bank transfer then he will have to declare it as income and therefore will need the necessary paperwork plus if you want an agreement you would have to give your real details anyway.

If you are paying cash he can declare the property empty and have extra undeclared cash in his pocket. This of course is a win for him but you have no guarantees he wont kick you out at the end of the first  month. You can't declare a property empty indefinitely though as it also means no council tax will be chargeable towards it and this can be a risk for the landlord as eventually why its empty will be questioned especially if its a buy to let property.

He is probably contacting escorts because he knows we need a second property to work from and its handy knowing your landlord is cool with it.
