The University of Bristol has been commissioned by the Home Office and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales to investigate (a) the nature and (b) the prevalence of prostitution and sex work in England and Wales. This will inform the Home Office Select Committee enquiry on prostitution and could mean the difference between decrim and the Nordic Model.
This project has been granted permission by a University of Bristol Research Ethics Committee, and is led by Professor Marianne Hester OBE. Marianne is a well known proponant of the Nordic Model therefore it is crucial that as many workers as possible respond to say how much they don't want the Nordic Model.
They are seeking input from people currently or formerly involved in prostitution and sex work, academics, NGOs/charities, criminal justice and health practitioners, police and others. So please pass this on.

All done, had to dig to get a few links on the research conducted about sex work from academics to add in, if you want to be able to do this maybe have a few links to copy and paste into word before going on the link (that part is entirely optional and you don't have to in order to complete the survey but was worth it).

Bit late to the party for the survey but I’ve just watched that video braziliana!
Omg! That man! So how is it any different when it’s him and the government trying to control me and my vagina than anyone else doing it?!
It baffles me that these people think they can dictate what grown adults do in the bedroom! Just disgraceful

I just don’t understand what’s so difficult about seeing the difference between someone doing something against their will and someone making a choice?!
So anyone that struggles with grasping it is essentially struggling to grasp the concept of consent. Consent is the difference between rape and sex, assault and a boxing match, getting high and being spiked. They’re completely different things, one is a choice that needs to be accepted and the other a violation that needs to be illegal, like prostitution and forced prostitution;completely different activities essentially
I can’t fathom how taking away “vulnerable” women’s probably sole incomes is at all helpful. I’m currently trying to find a normal job like so many people i know and for whatever reason it’s just really hard to find work at the moment. Also due to mental health issues I’m limited in jobs I can do and this work has literally saved me when I’ve been through extremely dark times.
Ugh anyway off my soapbox!
Does anyone know if any of this stuff is being taken seriously? Are there any updates on (possible) law changes?
