New PM and Prostitution
« on: 07 July 2016, 04:54:28 pm »
Hi ladies, I don't often start a new topic but wondered what others felt in the situation.

I'm all for women doing a job as well as men but when I see who is running for the leadership of the Tory party and know Theresa May's thoughts on prostitution I really fear for the future.

I'll admit to knowing absolutely nothing about politics and at times I wish I could understand them, but I don't.

So my question is, if Theresa May does get the leadership, how will it affect prostitutes and their business? I know it won't stop men wanting their share but will it become harder to maintain a good level of business?

If you don't know about Theresa May and her works just google or bing it and you should find enough info.

Well, the committee findings in the news this week were quite heartening, and TBH I think she'll have much more important things to worry about for a couple of years! Plus, the tories are usually more libertarian, so honestly, I don't see any big changes happening any time soon. Fingers crossed...

Precisely. She'll be tied up for years dealing with the Brexit shitstorm. Not sure I'd call the Tories libertarian, though. It's simply Tory men protecting their privileges and making sure nothing interferes with their bit of fun.

Corbyn does, but in general a lot of Labour politicians are anti.

Prime Ministers don't always get their way. Cameron didn't.

Theresa May is the new scapegoat du jour, Cameron has decided to make her PM because he doesn't want to deal with the huge mess HE's created. She's like the cleaning team coming after the party is over. She's like his little poodle and will do what he says. She has much more important stuff to deal with that us prossies. There's the Brexit thingy, a recession coming, Scotland and Ireland wanting  independence and Angela Merkel  sharpening her knives in Brussels. Then a general election quite soon. She has way too much stuff in her hands and I'm not worried about my job one bit.

Theresa May was talking about the modern slavery bill on the national news this morning. I was hoping she'd be too busy to deal with this!

I thought the bits about prostitution had been voted to be removed from the modern slavery bill when they dragged it up last year?

I think that at the end of the day, these things have to be voted on and so far any moves to make our lives harder have been voted against, I dont see why it would go any other way next time around if it happens again.

Yes they were removed.
