Title: tell your story
Post by: Suzy909 on 12 September 2011, 10:46:14 am
Hi there,

We are a TV production company working on a new  documentary looking at how
students are having to be ever more resourceful to fund their studies as
they university education gets more and more expensive.

We are looking for current students who are working in  or about to start
working in the sex industry in some shape or form, whether online,
escorting, in clubs etc ....

In the first instance this would be an informal chat, so if you want to tell
your story or you know somebody else who would be interested in potentially
featuring in this program, then we would love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Suzy

Sure. We are all looking forward to be "outed" for 15 minutes of fame (in exchange of no money LOL!).  Sounds awesome. Same with students paying their tuition with sex work. Little reminder: They're studying so that they can turn into a "respectable member of society"  and babbling about their "whoredom"  (for free)  infront of  a camera is not in their best interest.

If you are doing a story about people with little money and are, in fact, paying them do let us know.

Otherwise a) some consciences need to be examined and b) it makes it much easier to decide to delete this.

Sorry, but I read...

Hi there,

We are a TV production company looking for some people who fit into our preconceived notions of sex workers.  Tragic back story preferred. Must be photogenic. We'd like you to be interested in being an Escort -  but not one who is good enough to earn any money as the fee we offer for outing yourself is laughably small.

In the first instance this would be an informal chat so we can lull you into a false sense of security about how lovely we are and how we have your best interests at heart so you forget that we are actually only interested in selling a tv program.

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Etc Etc

Cynical? Moi?  ;D

Frankly, unless  you are Emanuelle Bercot and you want to make a new version of  the movie "Mes ch?res ?tudes - (Student Services)", I don't think to tell you my personal story

That's good blondpearl!   your response just made by day.

Yeah, id love to come an talk to you.  I mean  I was at university the other day in the lecture theatre. My renewal  fees for September are due/overdue and randomly I thought to myself "Hey  I know I will become an escort. That'll fix it."
Notttttttttt...............

There are plenty of students who are struggling with fees and are becoming resourceful or whatever but are not becoming sex workers to pay their fees. Why don;t you go and ask them how they are being resourceful?

I also hate the insinuation that all sex workers are in it for the money and that this is just an easy way to make money blah blah blah. Boring, boring, boring, heard it all before.

So, no I do not wish to come and talk to you  and "out myself". Even if  you were paying a really high for this I wouldn't contemplate in a  million month of Sundays

It's incredible when you think about it, really. Their basic angle is 'some young women decide to take up extremely well paid part-time work in order to avoid huge debts and have plenty of free time to concentrate on their studies'. Well, duh.

It pisses me off the way these people always think we're just dying to 'tell our story'.  Would they approach any other self-employed people in this way?  I think not.

Ha,

This person has infuriated me so much ! I just noticed a  bunch of typos in my post left without correction!
Oops ;D

Even the heading of this topic bugs me . Tell your story!!!!!!!!  Who are you to tell me to tell my story in such an authoritative manner?

I am telling you to stop telling me and others to tell our story.
