Non-consensual filming of sex as voyeurism
« on: 28 January 2020, 04:42:51 pm »
It should have been obvious that it was, but it seems that until now the Crown Prosecution Service has often taken the view that if you're legitimately somewhere, you can film the sex you're having there... even if you don't have the active consent of everyone else involved.

But someone who was convicted anyway of filming their sex with escorts decided to appeal and we now have a precedent that filming sex without consent is likely to be voyeurism.

I'm looking forward to finding the actual ruling, but there's a summary at

theguardian.com/law/2020/jan/28/filming-partner-without-their-consent-during-sex-ruled-a-criminal-offence
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Great! If he didn't appeal this wouldn't have been changed. Wot a donut.
