In line with Dr Bateman's comments, lawmakers who deem the selling of sex fundamentally immoral should explain why consensual prostitution is any more so than, say, consensual violence. Apart from being legal (not to mention, for a lucky few, highly lucrative), boxing, a male-dominated profession, is one of our national sports, I think we would all agree. (This is an expansion of Dr Bateman's argument regarding the right to make money with one's body)

I feel that if Dr Bateman, or someone with similar views to hers (with both the articulate speech & personal composure needed to influence thinking), had been on this morning's episode of The Big Questions, where the question of decriminalising prostitution was debated, my own position as an autonomously-employed prostitute may have been given adequate representation.
