I am a television documentary Producer and I work for an award winning documentary company called Minnow Films. I am currently in the research stage for a new documentary about mature escorts for Channel 4 and would love to speak to any escorts who feel this is relevant to them to hear their thoughts on what our documentary should include.   I understand that you receive a lot of requests to speak to researchers but I would really appreciate your input.

Minnow Films is renowned for its sensitive and intelligent portrayal of human stories. I have included information about the programmes we make and a link to our website at the bottom of this post.  Rather than making a 'shock doc' just about sex and age, we want to make a warm and insightful film that explores the professional world of mature escorts and the confident and financially independent women who choose to be in their profession.  The documentary is not news or current affairs but is very much a human-interest documentary from the perspective of the women themselves.  Rather than a seedy or scandalous documentary we feel strongly that we want to make a film that is honest, frank and open, that shines a light into a world that we do not normally get to see or understand.   In regards to how we are defining ?mature? we are very much taking advice on this from those we speak to and we are interested in this area because of the life experience and insight that the women of this age offer.

If you would be interested in having a confidential chat with me to tell me your thoughts I can be reached on my email address jennyw@minnowfilms.co.uk or on my landline 0207 078 8160.  It would be brilliant to hear from you.

At this stage all conversations are for research purposes and a chat with me would no way commit you to taking part.  If after speaking with me you feel you might be happy to take part then this is something we can discuss but either way a conversation would be very helpful.

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you.

Jenny

About Minnow Films:

Minnow Films was set up in 2006 by award-winning documentary filmmaker Morgan Matthews and has since become well known for producing acclaimed and intelligent films on often sensitive subject matters.

Our filmography includes work such as The Fallen, a landmark 3-hour film for BBC2 that remembers every serviceman and woman who has died whilst serving with the British Armed Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. Extremely well received by the families who took part as well as the MoD and the public, The Fallen won 2 BAFTAs and an RTS award for best documentary.

Other recent projects include BBC2's 7/7: One Day In London which won the BAFTA and Broadcast Award for Best Documentary. It was broadcast last year on the anniversary of the bombing to overwhelming critical and audience acclaim ? and most importantly to us, was very well received by those who took part.

Current projects include a BBC2 series about Greater Manchester Police?s Serious Sexual Assault and Serious Sexual Crime Units; and a BBC3 documentary about young men in a Young Offenders Institution who are grappling with the demands of parenting whilst being in prison.

Committed to producing public service broadcasting of the highest quality, we have strict guidelines and polices in place with our duty of care to contributors remaining steadfast at all times. We are extremely proud of our collaborative approach to film-making which always has the accurate and honest portrayal of issues at its core.
