Why is it not necessary. It makes me feel good to see other sex workers Ie escorts interested in their rights.

Why not?

Because despite the Rules Of The Internet, it's not necessary to make a public announcement every time you do something in order to ensure whatever you've done has actually happened, that is unless being seen to have done it is very important to you (and if that's the case then that's up to you, but the forum isn't here for anybody's validation). The petition will still have been signed whether you do this or not, and it saves an incredibly boring and tedious thread that some of us have to read.

Why is it not necessary. It makes me feel good to see other sex workers Ie escorts interested in their rights.

Then maybe look at the petition? Or one of the many threads where sex workers are discussing their interest in their rights, rather than what amounts to an endless list of one line posts all saying the same thing?

As you know, the more signatures a petition attracts, the better its chances of making a difference.
Without this thread, I wouldn't have known about this petition.

I didn’t know that there was a petition on this. I couldn’t find it, could someone please send a link or the specific wording to put into Google search. That would be helpful thank you, I think as many people as possible need to sign

I found the petition if anyone is interested, you need to type in Parliament petitions in Google search and then in type in ‘sex’ in the petition search NOT ‘sex worker’ and it’s the second one down. I hope we can all sign it members and guests so show support for our work

Well I think it's relevant, important and completely appropriate to post a petition in a forum titled 'Politics and Academic Queries'.  ;D

I get that not everyone is as interested in the activism side of sex work as some of us, but nobody is forcing anyone to pay attention... It's just unfortunate that you're a moderator Amy, so you kinda have to read every thread, but you get the jobs you choose to do.

While I'm here.....If anyone is still reading this far (by choice!) and would like to know some more about the 'Sexual Exploitation Bill' I would be happy to fill you in on the whole issue, the history, where the proposed policies have been implemented elsewhere in the world and how much damage it has done in other countries.

End of the day, this issue affects every single one of us, whether you're an indoor or outdoor working escort, a cam girl, a sugarbaby, a Domme, a stripper, or a punter, if this passes into legislation it will change the entire industry for the worse, for us all.

It will become more dangerous for many more WGs (there have been multiple murders already in one country where this is law) so many may move into an already saturated online market.

But there'll be less punters wanting f2f services and plenty going to jail so the overall market value of all our services and content will slump, so even if it isn't dangerous for you to work, you'll feel the drop in your income soon enough!!

So even if you're not usually politically inclined but you like your job and only sign one petition of this kind in your whole damn life, you should definitely consider making it this one.

Thank you for your time.
Peace.
