Not sure if we can talk about politics here, but does anyone else wonder if the election results will have an effect on business?

Well if you read the Slow at the Minute thread, every conceivable thing has been blamed for business being bad (and good) at one time or another including hot weather, cold weather, school holidays, schools going back, rain, strikes, payday, Ebola, the World Cup, everybody else and how much they charge, Christmas, Ramadan, Wimbledon, swine flu and fog.

I doubt it's too much of a stretch to add a General Election to the list :).

Haha I would imagine that the state of the economy plays quite a big part in our business though... so if it starts to go downhill again at the hands of an unnamed government leader that would be a conceivable reason for a downturn in business   :D

It crossed my mind that we might have a little surge on the 7th as men tell their other halves: "I'll be home a bit late tonight, love, as I'm coming via the polling station." You never know!

The Labour Party are perhaps the most likely to put a dampener on things in terms of criminalisation, whereas the Greens are very up on SW rights. That said, I think whoever wins will have other things to worry about, at least for the first year or two...

I bloody LOVE general elections. Will be up all night with snacks and David Dimbleby. (I like to delude myself that I had a little part to play in the Cleggmania of 2010 thanks to a comment I passed on to one of his personal advisors. 8))

I had a bit of a shock yesterday when I realised I'm actually in London on tour on election day and might not be able to vote. I got lucky though and figured it out just in time to arrange for postal voting so long as I get the paperwork back to them by Tuesday that they posted out to me last night.

i think right now we're technically in deflation, which should mean punters have more money in their pockets. Not making much of an impact, IMO.

On the other hand, should interest rates go up (and they'll have to, someday) punters will have less money in their pockets. Not only will mortgage payments go up, but saving money will become more attractive. But I am not an economist and for all I know there could be some knock-on effect that would actually spur growth and therefor spending.

Well having been an escort and then domination and having a production company that produce BDSM movies the Tories have made that illegal in the UK (which has forced me to do more sessions which is technically a bigger risk) also all of the censorship in the UK  for example AW .....i feel their is going to be so much censorship that they are going to force girls of AW and onto the streets ......they should spend more time catching online predators then restricting what us girls can do online
