Hello everyone :)

I'm Emily - I've worked in indoor SW myself as an escort for over 10 years, and I'm currently working on my PhD research study at the University of Warwick, titled 'What kind of work is sex work?'. I'm seeking anyone with experience of indoor sex work in the UK - including full-service sex work and/or other types of indoor sex work, such as stripping or OnlyFans - to take part in the study throughout 2024/25.

I completed the first round of interviews earlier this year, with some amazing participants and insights. I am now starting a second round and welcome WGs on SAAFE to come forward, should you like to contribute.

What are the aims?

The study explores lived experiences of UK-based indoor sex work in relation to other jobs, employment, livelihoods and relationships.

The study aims to develop a better understanding of the nature of sex work - and different reasons why individuals enter the sex industry - at a time when many in the UK are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, inadequacies with other jobs and occupations, as well as the effects of Brexit and the pandemic.

The study stands in solidarity with the sex workers' rights movement.

What does taking part involve?

    • An interview lasting approx. 1hr, bringing 3 artefacts related to sex work (online or in-person - instructions will be provided)

    • Interviews and artefact collection are designed to be informal, fun and creative! Workshops last approx. 1.5hrs.

    • All participation is voluntary and you can leave at any point. You will be asked to sign an ethically informed consent form confirming that you are aged 18+

You will receive a £50 voucher in recognition of your time as well as reimbursement of any travel expenses incurred :)
