I am working on a series of features for BBC Radio Bristol about Belle du Jour and her life as an escort. They will be an non-judgemental look at the reality of escort work in Bristol / Bath / Weston-Super-Mare. As much as possible we want to talk to people who are directly involved and hearing their opinions, rather than the beliefs of politicians and academics.

I was wondering whether some people might be interested in working with me on this project?  Do you have any stories and experiences that you would like to share with us? It would be great to hear what your experiences are, both good and bad, funny and sad to see the reality behind Belle du Jour.

We could work around what you are interested in doing and what suits your time and logistical needs. If you would prefer to remain anonymous we can arrange this.

We are doing the features because Brooke Magnanti turned out to be a Bristol scientist, so I am particularly looking for people who live or work in the Bristol / Bath area.

Please get in touch with any thoughts or questions.
Many thanks

That is a neat link for the story re the Bristol thing. A radio programme is ideal from an identity point of view which of course is the worry for most girls.

Maybe you could put your email in the main body of your post so lurkers can contact you easily. If its a BBC address, it may give you more credibility and girls may be more likely to get in touch.

Good luck and please let us know when it is aired.

I'm a bit late getting back to this and it seems to have sorted itself out, but tempting though it is, can the spelling/grammar police please confine themselves to the Off Topic section. By all means question the OP's motives, intent or whatever, but picking posts to bits because of a single vowel is a cheap shot and doesn't add anything to the thread.

The question of payment for ladies' time is getting to be something of a hoary old chestnut and is unlikely to be answered anytime soon - I would presume that the renumeration (if any) offered to participants will be sorted out between the parties involved in private, and if ladies do not want to work for free they are under no obligation to do so. Give it a rest, folks.

Relax Millie. Having a minor disagreement with someone doesn't mean no-one wants you to post any more, and it's highly unlikely to even mean the person you disagreed with doesn't want you to post any more.

Millie, I wasn't having a go and whether you post is up to you, but part of the point of having a moderator is keeping threads on topic; I wasn't even meaning you in particular but just that BBC Bristol posted about a very specifc brief they have and there is no reason to gleefully take pot shots at them just because it's yet another journo.

I realise that many of us are getting a bit sick of feeling like exhibits in a zoo, as well as meal tickets for the current crop of media wannabees, but if you're not interested in addressing anything they have said just leave the thread alone and move on to another. They'll forget us and start chasing after something else as soon as the next hot topic pops up.
