Hello,
I'm Gilly and MA TV Journalism student at City University and am working on a short documentary for university on the subject of stigma surrounding student sex workers. We (myself, Jess and Nasim-Rebecca) are hoping to explore stigma that exists in universities, the lack of support services, student unions and platforms for student sex workers. We want to debunk stigmas surrounding demographics, reasons for entry and the outdated view that sex work is a trade very much dominated by women.
We would like to hear from students/ graduates who are sex workers or ex-sex workers about how stigma has impacted you. We will discuss how stigma can stifle policy change and hope to consider the role stigma plays amongst the police force, the general public, clientele and workers alike.
We would love to hear your views and experiences and would be glad to speak with you/ meet with you for interview.
As students we can only cover travel expenses and/or could come to a location convenient to you. We would also be glad to speak over the phone/ Skype.
Thank you in advance for your time and any feedback would be welcomed.
All the best,
Gilly
