The new digital legislation is here. All adult websites will require the viewer send his ID details for proof of age. And of course I'm assuming adultwork, backpage and all the escort sites will have to follow the legislation.

This will mean a huge drop of business.

"Online pornography in the UK is set to undergo its biggest ever change this year. The government will introduce an age-verification requirement for all pornographic websites and people wanting to use them will have to prove they are over 18.

The plans were initially announced in July 2017 with Matt Hancock, the then minister of state for digital and culture, saying the pornography block would be fully in place" by April 2018. Since then the government has been attempting to formalise the process of how websites should apply an age-verification system and establish a regulator for doing so.

I don?t have a problem with that. It may stop a lot of pimps as ladies may not be so keen to work for them if they have to produce ID.

With these new regulation pimps don't need to ask ladies for any personal details, however -everybody- will need to provide ID to check AW and any other escort website. and by everybody i mean: you, I, clients and pimps. This measure doesn;t deter pimps in any way, it just deters minor from accesing adult websites.

However guys -for the obvious reasons- won;t want to give their ID details to dubious AW et al, and this is going to mean a huge drop in business. Clients won;t be giving their personal details, specially married ones.

Having read the new law, it is not clear what is to be targeted exactly, and it states content "produced solely or principally for the purposes of sexual arousal" that could mean a hell of alot of content not just videos. Could a topless picture on an escort website be considered porn? how far is this going to go. We will have to wait and see what happens in April.

Adultwork already seems to be ready to comply, and are saying if you have paid for credits by sms, creditcard or paysafe you are fine. It does not say if you have to be age verified to read the profiles, or age verified to access video or webcam content. It is all very confusing, I suppose we will just have to wait and see what happens in the coming months.

You have to have paid for credits or be age verified to access movies, private galleries, or paid webcam (which is why you're not allowed to be nude in free webcam, or have nudity on your free gallery.)

clients will have to produce ID too. I most certainly do not think my clients will be producing ID.

Will client be able to browse and see our details and book incall appointments withus without ID.

Bear in mind that the 3 main profile pics are meant to be non-adult so there's no reason why they shouldn't still be viewable by the public as they are now, not just by AW members. If your number is showing I can't see it making a difference. Of course we all know some profile pics are very adult indeed so they need to be sorted.

Surely it would mean the opposite, brothels/agencies probably won't ask for id so there'll be more work for agency women than indie maybe

The title of this thread is misleading, it's not AW personally asking for ID its the UK govt, and it will be a system they put in place so once the person verifies their age, they will be allowed access to all adult sites. Pretty sure its not going to be a problem as most guys view porn etc and will not feel worried if its a govt thing. It might cause a drop in the beginning but once everyone gets to used to it, things will get back to normal.

It's a joke really as AW monitors some people's profiles with more scrutiny and others are as blatant as they come on the main public profile page and the first 3 main pics.

It is not my character to go round reporting other people's profiles but plenty are doing as they please on AW. Whereas I have to be fully careful like many of us.

It does seem very hit and miss how AW run their business. Perhaps the numbers of escorts are just too vast to keep fully on top of it all and they do spot checks randomly who knows.

And what is porn anyway? Would it classify as porn if I showed one tit? Two tits? Licking my lips??

If you're happy to rely on AW for marketing and give them commission on your movies, I guess it will be fine as they will take on the burden of being compliant with this law.
But if you are an independent small provider, it's not going to work; well I don't think that many clients will want to send me a copy of their passport.

Nah. Just do your usual and deliver your content via a third party eg AW or IndieBill or Clips4Sale and let them do the legwork of age verifying.
