I am a producer at The Garden Productions.  I have been asked to develop an idea for a documentary for the BBC about mature people doing things that are perhaps considered unconventional for an older person. As such, I am really interested in making contact with anyone over the age of 60 who is working as an escort.

We are in the early development phase at the moment so are just keen to talk to people for research purposes.  There is no obligation for anyone to be involved in any filming at this stage, and all calls are treated as confidential.  Our approach the subject will be sensitive and intelligent, and in no way tabloid or sensational - we are always interested in telling the human stories behind the statistics and headlines.

I think the only way to guarantee a sympathetic portrayal as an octogenarian prostitute is to have an incredibly irritating grandchild that makes it through to the X Factor live finals........

It's a big Ask but as we both know, the fact you can get on the telly,
certainly outweighs the numerous downsides to the interviewee.

People are that dumb. My friends Jeremy & Jerry depend upon that for their shows.

Background stuff sounds safe enough but it depends upon the direction and conclusions intended for your show {These things are scripted as no one produces open ended doco's just to see where they go} 
Is your piece pro Whoring, anti, neutral or just looking for shock value for getting viewers? 
This would go fundamentally to the decision of potential contributors.
For anyone who does feature on the telly, Do they get any editorial control on how they are portrayed? Can they have a veto option?
If your answers are all negative, you can always play the Trump card: "Look stupid, you get to go on the telly" 
That's what I'd say. 

I'd suggest you try google for older escorts and direct contact people much like you have here.

{Though I'd only watch the finished program if it sensationalises then on screen crucifies said escorts, I like car-crash telly}

On a footnote. I'm interested in appearing in any forthcoming doco you might be doing
if it's one about escorts who are looking to meet clients to exclusively watch Judge Judy & Jeremy Kyle. 
That's the sort of escorting direction I'd like to move into and your next doco 
could help make that happen.
