[BBWs wanted re] ITV Show
« on: 16 January 2013, 12:46:44 pm »
Hi my name is Rob and I'm a Researcher at ITV in Manchester. I am currently in the early stages of developing a special show surrounding the topic of sexual fantasy, with the intention of giving our audiences an insight into this world because we believe that allot of people have preconceived opinions on these subjects. I am looking for Big beautiful women and the men who adore them.
We are still in the very early stages of development but we were wondering whether this might be something you would be happy to discuss with me in more detail over the phone?
Please rest assured, there is no obligation for you to take part in the programme to be produced by ITV, but any information you can provide us with that would assist us with our research would be greatly appreciated. Similarly if you know of any couples or individuals who would be happy to discuss this with me, that would also be fantastic.
You can contact me directly by calling my direct line on 0161 952 0828 / 07825196199 or emailing me at rob.parry@ITV.com. Alternatively if you have a contact number that you are happy for me to contact you on, that would be great.
Thank you for taking the time to read this - I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind Regards,

Rob

Purely for info:

I've had numerous emails and phone calls from the people associated with this show. I did eventually call them and give them a day and time when it would be convenient for me to talk but that was ignored in favour of them calling me again at times that suited them. Normally when people do this to me I put them straight on my 'Block' list but in the end, out of curiosity, I answered the phone and we had a brief chat.

It seems that this show is possibly going to be in the form of some kind of televised debate. If you fancy sitting in a TV Studio defending yourself against being fat AND being a prostitute then I'm sure that would be a fun day out but it's definitely not one for me. Happily though the person who spoke to me told me he 'couldn't force me to appear' so phew, apparently I'm not going to be frog-marched into the TV Studio at gunpoint to justify my existence. Lucky me!

Slightly more seriously I'm sure that it was just an accidental phrase that slipped out but in my opinion, if someone is asking you to do something for nothing they should be a bit more careful about the words they choose. That comment aside I think media companies are often of the opinion that we're all falling over ourselves for a chance to appear on TV but this still sounds like a pretty tough gig. If you take anti-fat media opinions and then multiply them by the anti-prostitute ones then it's pretty much a perfect media storm!

I'm not offended by any of this btw - another day, another numpty on the phone - but I am slightly bemused by their attitude. I was dismissed with the comment that they have plenty of other people helping them but I just thought I'd add this comment about my experience in case anyone else was thinking of responding.

Great post, Rooby,

Wonderfully well rounded, rich in information and audience considerate: pretty much everything the OP to which you respond IS NOT.

What a fucking insult this OP is.  'Don't worry, you won't be forced to participate.....'  Oh really, how fucking generous!  In that case, let me get my coat......

Degenerate.

Libertariana, can you moderate your language please? Yes, this is an adult board, but you've made three ranting, sweary posts in a row and all directed at members posting in this section for no apparent reason other than that something seems to have put you in a bad mood.

If you want to object to or disagree with posters here that's fine, but you can do it in an adult fashion without repeatedly f-ing and blinding at them - it does nothing for your argument and makes both you and the forum look bad. Alternatively, if you're just looking for a row please go and find one somewhere else.

Hi Amy,

I'm not looking aimlessly or at random, for a row, that I can say totally honesty.  I strongly disagree with your assertion that my posts were made 'for no apparent reason', when in fact my posts are the product of an evolving interest and observation with regard contemporary portrayal of prostitutes and prostitution, particularly the apparent fetish of the academic world, of which I am a part, for works seemingy above the normal rues of objective scholarly appraisal, in favor of wild preconceived stereotypes and generic characterization of prostitutes and their lives.  I feel my posts are wholly adult in there composition and view point and see no reason why my post would 'make the forum look bad' any more than one could argue that many others could?  Surely as a collective of totally autonomous individuals, NOT representing the views of SAAFE as is integral to the forums rules?, any opinion expressed by me is understood to be exactly that and in no way have I indicated anything other than this.  As far as making me 'look bad', I feel able to take responsibility for that myself.  I was not aware that there would be any need what so ever to be conscious of ones language on this, an adult forum, consisting of individual adults who work in the sex industry but of course, if this is the stipulation of the moderators, I shall wholeheartedly adhere to this from now on.
