Well said - they just appear to be fleecing us, which is especially frustrating given that a). many clients don't trust anyone advertising on VS anyway, and b). whenever I've tried it I've got nothing but window lickers!

I do get quite a bit of interest from it, and have learned to 'use' it in a way which sort of works for me.

They are taking the P with the adverts, and they still cannot update their geodatabase to bring me into a post 1975 area. As a result I have to pretend I'm somewhere else to get anywhere near, and that somewhere else is not a particularly desirable place. I'm not snobby but some potential customers are a bit wary, and it can come across as a bit strange when I am at a postcode, then explain that I'm actually in a different town.

I've also tried to get a better deal for a longer placed ad, but they are only interested in those who will pay for the extra, very expensive features. Not bog standard customers. For that reason I target my adverts to specific times.

When you visit the adult section on Vivastreet, one singular pop-up appears for an affiliated adult site.
Once you click off of this, it doesn't appear again so it won't be affecting anyone's adverts.

We can't and don't want to advertise adult material elsewhere on the site which is why it's not in other categories.

But it covers the whole screen on a desktop machine, so the viewer is already distracted.

So basically we are paying massive amounts of money for VS to earn even more by diverting custom from our adverts, if we stop advertising, where will VS place these most likely click per pay adverts ?

I can't help with any of this but I'll add that if I was paying top dollar for advertising and this was coming up over my ad I would be incandescent even if it was happening to everybody else's ads as well.

We've been assured that sex workers have to pay not just extra, but sky high costs to advertise on VS because the ads 'require moderation' that other ads do not (which I'm unconvinced about - I suspect if I tried to stick an ad in the gardening section it would be 'moderated' pretty damn fast) and now it appears that they're reselling space which somebody else has already paid for to secure for themselves?

Unbelievable.

Its a step too far and totally disgraceful.

Viva are looking it from a business side,  it doesn't prevent me from getting business. I just click off of it. It looks like viva need to update thier terms and conditions.

I've taken VS this week, paid ?67 for the week and I've had one quickie from it. I've had over 60 calls and the other 59 have been a parade of time wasters, people going "yeah baby whats ur postcode" and bareback seekers. Fucking ridiculous. This is the last time I'll ever spend money on this site.
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes
The undiscovered continent for you to undress

when will you lower your price and make it possible to pay by day ? Cause I'm sticking with backpage for now ... you require way too much verification and moderation + you're expensive

It appears when you first enter the Escort & Massage category, so if you are clicking on your advert directly, this would be why. However, the pop-up will only appear once per session.

I'm sorry, Lyrhaa. I don't think that daily payments will be an option in the future, however you may be able to get cheaper rates by paying monthly. We have some plans to make the moderation process much quicker over the next month or so - watch this space!

I can confirm it happened when I clicked view ad (MY AD)  Why should it appear ? on my paid for ad at all ? I don't do phone chat, so why are you promoting it on my paid for advert ? Do you even realise your encouraging phone chat perverts to call us which has been an ongoing gripe with vivastreet advertising, also a reason why many girls dont advertise on there anymore ? If BMW paid for an ad on your site, would you stick a KAWASAKI ad on top of it (because its the motor industry)? No, because you know BMW wouldnt allow it. Our ads are expensive are you going to stop putting adverts on top of them ? or are we going to have to migrate to BACKPAGE and other advertising sites and leave you with nowhere to stick your phone chat and webcam adverts apart from by themselves ?

I'll describe what I get;

When I go onto the Escorts section of VS I get a full page window over the top of the ads directing the person onto some sort of other 'contact' site.

Once I've removed this when I click onto any Escort advert there's a banner ad to the side of the Escort details which advertises phone chat. This appears on every Escort's profile/details page.

The banner is linked to a mature chat website page.

VS what have you got to say about that then?
