Post by: Anika Mae on 07 February 2011, 02:22:52 pm: This board has got a bit confusing, because there are two (or three) somewhat different things that a "buddy" can be.

In Penny's Buddy Scheme, a buddy is a sort of mentor for new escorts, providing one-to-one support and advice based on their own knowledge and experience.

Alternatively, s/he can be someone who fills a security role. When going on an outcall (and possibly for incalls too) it's advisable to always make sure someone knows where you are, who you're with, and when you should be back in contact. Some escorts use their partners or friends for this, and some have a reciprocal arrangement with someone else in the industry.

The second kind of buddying is what this board was set up to facilitate, and those of us who were willing to act as a security call posted our details. However, since Penny sometimes gets behind with her Buddy Scheme work, people have started posting here in the hope of finding mentors and friends, and the initial threads regarding security have been buried. Since security is often an immediate need, I want to resurrect that function.

So, please post in this thread if you're willing to be a security buddy for someone. Say when you're available, and whether you're looking for a reciprocal arrangement and/or willing to do one-off calls for people who don't have someone else available at the time. If you want someone to help you with security you may want to say how often and what sort of times you work, or you might prefer to save that for private communication once you've got in touch with someone.

When you arrange a security call, make sure you've established a clear procedure. You should know how you're going to attempt to get in touch with your buddy if s/he doesn't call on time, how much leeway to allow, and what action to take if you can't make contact. It's also a good idea to have code words for ok/not ok.

You can edit your post if your circumstances change. If you want to remove it alltogether, please PM a moderator or use the "report post" button. If you think that someone who's posted is no longer available, please also let us know so we can follow up and remove their post if it's no longer relevant.

I turn my phone off when I go to bed, so you can try me whenever. Signal is a bit dodgy in Brighton so if you go straight to voicemail it's worth trying again a few minutes later. I also often reach my phone just as it stops ringing, so if you call again straight away I might be ready to pick up, but when I miss calls this way I send a text to say so.

If you can't get in touch with anyone for security but decide to go out anyway, you can leave the information with me by voicemail, text, PM or email. I suggest using two methods to be sure I get it. If you do this, please send a follow-up message when you're safely finished.

I'm on tour a lot of the time but when I'm home I occasionally do outcalls in hertfordshire and london. I maybe do 2 outcalls a month and these tend to be on weekends.

I always have at least two hours notice before any booking and I tend not to work past 11pm.

I've been escorting for 2 years just at the point when not having anybody to talk to or knowing anybody else who does it so I joined here to see if there were others who felt the same. It's nice to hear others stories and talking about each other's days where as at the minute I have nobody who knows what I do so feeling like an outcast pretty much like security but also having somebody to talk to as this sometimes is like a lonely world I suppose talking on here to others can help just don't want to annoy others haha x

My obvious thought has been whether it would be worth having a Kik / WhatsApp type chat group as, if there were a few folks involved then no-one would have to be reliant on any one other person (since nobody can guarantee to always be able to check their messages etc and people are available different times of day and night).
I doubt this is an original idea though so I wondered if there's anything like that already that I can join?
Or, if not, if there's anyone would be interested in it?
