Hey,
So I wasn't sure were to post this as I know this is more a buddy up for work but here goess....
So I've been escorting for a little over a year now and during that time I've lost 2 best friends who can't accept what I do, last week I lost my last and 3rd best friend :(
As open minded as I thought my friends where they just can't accept what I do. I quote from one of them "just being around you makes me feel uncomfortable and sick"...... >:( Apparently our morals are different I make her feel uncomfortable and I'm settling for less then I'm worth. This hurt me so much, I pride myself on being a kind person with good morals. Regardless of my job the fact that I've always been a good friend should be enough.
So now I feel isolated, sad and just god damn lonely ??? I'm now wanting to only extend my friendship with other people who are in the industry, for now. I can't be the only one that feels isolated. So basically just wondering if anyone wants to grab a drink and some food sometime?

My words sound a bit hard but perhaps it is better that way the things happened to you with the people around you. You got to now who they really are. They have never been true friends to you.
On the other hand: sexworker like some other minorities do not take part in equality. We conserve exclusion. Perhaps this is our onliest tradition. In our "very modern" time it is "modern" to think in a bad way of sexworker in a 19th century pattern. It is the way how middle class people think about "the others". It is sad that there is less of activity between sw. We are not acting like e.g. the gay community. It is as it is because on the one hand sexworker try to be part of the "normal" society and on the other hand it is "just" a job market for outsiders.
You could try to establish a monthly meeting for sexworker in your area and connect to other meetings in different regions.
