I use two on my Android phone.

Wheres my droid?
On this you put in a security word.
Then you give this word to anyone you want to for tracking purposes.
They text this word to your number and it will give map references
and display your location on google maps.

Lookout
On this you register your number on a website
and give your number, username and password to your security buddy.
Whenever they want to, they log in and hit the appropriate button to locate your phone.
Again, the phone location is displayed on google maps
this time on the Lookout website.

Both these apps locate my to the room I'm in at home
or the beer garden table when at a pub.
