For those of us who were thinking about going to this but who had never got around to booking, it looks like it has sold out.

The venue website reckons that there are not enough seats left for an order of one seat anyway...
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

That's what it told me the first time I tried to book, I had to select 'circle' seating rather than 'stalls' and then i was able to buy a ticket.... that was only around an hour ago, so maybe there are still tickets.

Yep I got a ticket.  (There were a few left)
Really interesting event.
Some of the films were really brill.
Also there was an intriguing trailer for another film called NORMAL directed by Nick Mai.
This was really interesting and I want to see the full film. This looked really, really good.

NI COUPABLES, NI VICTIMES (Not Guilty, Not Victims)
was a series of short interviews from various Providers across Europe. This was about all the problems and
repression in various countries {without frakin' saying which country each short segment related to!}
This was very, very, very boring and while the repressions and challenges may not put off potential Providers,
being made to watch this film as a punishment for escorting, certainly would!  As you would just get bored to death!   ::)
Recommended if you have trouble getting to sleep and don't like counting sheep!

The rest of the films I engaged with to varying degrees and I'm glad I watched them.
Hands Off is a film about Strip clubs in Hackney and the council trying to close them
despite massive local opposition to such action.
This was very good and makes me hate the council in a
"I say we take off and nuke the Town Hall from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."  kind of way.

A lovely after party as well.
It was especially nice knowing that a random stranger was not about to come up to me and ask:
"So what do you do for a living?"   ;D

It was great to meet a few of the other posters from SAAFE too.
Thanks Merrymary & Violet Rose for mentioning the event on SAAFE. I'd have missed it otherwise.
Oh, brill to chat with you both too.

It was nice to meet you Jodie.  :)

for people who couldn't make it and are inerested this was one of the films screened:

'Every Ho I Know Says So'
Sex workers talking about things they would like their lovers/partners to know.

'EVERY HO I KNOW SAYS SO is a response to the total lack of accessible online resources for people looking for advice on how to be a good date or lover or partner to a sex worker'.

Hiya Jane
I enjoyed meeting you as well.
That was a lovely day and really quite empowering as well.

I saw 'Every Ho I Know Says So'  two months ago on youtube.
In this, the filmed Providers speak of their wish  for understanding from their partners, on specific things exclusive to escorting.

Having a relationship with a Provider is exactly the same as a relationship with someone in any other job.
Yet it is totally different at the same time because of society constructs and rules and expectations
and the world of subliminal messages of love, and life 'norms' which society throws at us all from a young age.
This duality makes any long term partner, a very special person.  (Our baggage becomes their baggage, indeed)
