I have a client that comes every week for an hour and thinks we are in a friendship, not a business agreement.
That's where I get confused, what can we do? We are pleasers by nature, and they go and interpret it as it suits them. This particular one, stays for 1 1/2 hours, when just paying for one, I don't mind, he is very helpful otherwise, not that it would cover the 30mns extra every week, but we never know what gonna happen tomorrow and is better to have some people on your side for a rainy day. However I was absolutely chocked when sometime ago he sent me a txt asking if everything was ok as he notice we just stayed together for 1 hour and 15mns  :FF :FF. it was already 15mns more than he paid for and he is now moaning....
I suppose that there is two kinds of clients who wants more time than they are entitled to:
The ones who think that there is more than business and we only take their money because we are poor little girls, and the spiteful ones who wants to make sure that they are going to get every penny worth. To be honest both cases are very sad!

How do you imagine he'll help you on this 'rainy day'?

When we confuse clients this is what happens.
Not good for him or you.

Bianca, I had this problem - and you need to say something. With mine, the next time he booked, I texted him and pointed out that I did 45 and 1h meets (he always booked 30m and stayed for 45m+), that I didn't mind how long he booked for but that he needed to stick to the time. He called me and was fairly apologetic, and next time booked for an hour (admittedly, he was tardy leaving - aaargh!)

I would tell your client that you can either do a 1h booking, or 1.5hs - it's up to him. Whatever he books next time, start getting dressed, tidy up etc. when that time is over. If he complains, just say: "But you only booked for..."
