I had a friend of a friend staying recently, travelling through the UK, and she was looking for a sports massage for a sore back/shoulders. Asked me if I knew anywhere, I said only my gym and a couple of hotel spas, did she want me to book her one? No thanks, she would find one elsewhere, the ones I was talking about were far too expensive.
You can see where this was going.
Phonecall I received while at work yesterday "I found this amazing place in *local high street* and they do massages for ?25 for half an hour! It's a Thai place. You should totally go next time you need a massage, she was really good!
Me: Errrrrr. Is that the place with the blacked out windows on the high street called "Thai spa and massage?"
Her" "yes! It was really good!"
Me: "The one that is open til 11pm at night?"
Her: Yeah! You should so go for one after work!
Might leave it thanks
I did NOT know that massage parlours did legit massage for unsuspecting customers!? Has anyone worked in one where this is the norm and you take any customer, sexual or non-sexual, but only those in the know (or with eyes) realise that there are extras on offer it they request it....? Or were they just far too polite and probably still giggling now about the sweet naive tourist girl who wondered in?!
Best bit- she brought me a card and put it on my fridge in case I wanted the address! Ha! If only she knew.....
