I still date and maybe as a positive, escorting has made me more ruthless and set my standards. I find myself on dates or in the getting to know someone stages and think, "would I put up with this at work?". The truth is, I meet nicer people doing this than I do going on dates.

It's funny, this has given me a sense of worth and control I wasn't aware I had. I'm still going to date but I'm not stopping this either. Genuinely happy with my choices and if I do this a lot longer and stay single, I can live with that. X

Amen. Just started trying to date again and in a word: ugh. Escorting raised my standards so much. Which is funny, because I think most people would think the opposite would be true.

Absolutely. With the exception of one or two, I really like the people I get to meet and our experiences. I think for me, dating is full of ulterior motives. Escorting is a straightforward transaction (mostly) and if you're lucky, there's a a spark and whether it's little or not, you know where you stand. I've little time for games, I'd love to meet someone who was as blunt as me but still capable of a living relationship. Failing that, I'm getting a dog.

I'm still trying it out to see what the general reactions are. Some guys I've told before the date, some I told after and some I never told at all. I reckon it makes very little difference because they all turn out to be rubbish with or without knowing I'm an escort.

When socialising with male friends or family you start to realise that the conversation is all about them and I'm giving them my 100% attention, saying sorry if I need to use the loo etc, and dashing back to be ultra attentive to them. Being the perfect host and then afterwards feeling drained that it hasn't been a 2 way thing and nothing that I wanted to talk about got a look in because I haven't stepped out of 'escort mode' !!
