Joey, a link to wherever that gigantic post was from would have done nicely - please refrain from any more industrial-scale cut and pastes. Anybody in Yorkshire (including me) or anywhere else is more than capable of clicking on the word 'here', or whatever.

Out of interest, what exactly do you think that us 'dragging people out and beating them' achieves? What useful and practical purpose would it serve for us to behave like animals? Or do you (and those who agree) think that a pack of snarling vigilantes is more suited to deal with offenders than the legal system, and if so, why? Because if you do, we all ought to be eternally grateful that none of you are ever likely to be in charge of anything more important than making sure the bins go out on the right day and remembering to switch the TV off before you go to bed.

well I never, he even attacked a young girl of 14. it was very interesting to read this. Oh well his hopes of freedom was extended to the rest of his days in prison Justice is served.

Exactly. This is how our justice system is supposed to work.

We can't have justice be meted out in the form of torture and death by whoever feels that someone else has done wrong; if that were the case, us lot here would all be long slaughtered by the many who think our jobs/lifestyles are irreparably immoral.

As Amy is trying to explain, there are very good reasons why human rights and the law apply to everyone. If you were suddenly accused of murder [of a child, to make it a more emotive example] out of the blue, would you want a fair trial or would you not mind being immediately beheaded?

People like Peter Sutcliffe did not believe in Human rights which the  right to life is one of them
if we did not have  Human rights protection and Justice,  Peter Sutcliffe may of been beheaded worse still  may of not been brought to Justice  and we need to be protected and Justice to be served.

Human rights basic things that belong to people because they are human beings, regardless of their nationality, race, ethnicity. gender or religion and without which people can live in dignity, the right to life, justice freedom and equality. the right to food clean water , education, etc

 >:(  I didn't ask for a snippy comment when I made that statement.

Maybe its just me, but after watching a friend nearly die right in front of me, don't blame me for speaking my mind. Of course I know that dragging someone out on the street and beating him is not the sensible reasonable thing to do...but its nice to imagine it.

You know what the people who arrest killers really think of them e.g. cops, detention officers, etc? Kill those bastards, don't waste tax dollars feeding and housing them...Shit, if this was America his ass would have been dead (again, assuming he is the killer based on numerous proof). The guy even CONFESSED to banging a girl on the back of the head with a stone inside a sock. That alone would be enough to send him home...
