Title: Wow. So I had my first ever walk out
Post by: SelenaLondon on 18 April 2015, 09:52:17 am
last night.

Strangely, I'm not upset.

It was an Asian guy the agency sent. He took one look at me and said 'this won't work out' and walked off. I was literally standing there for like 5 minutes with my mouth hanging open.

The agent said he has done it before to another girl and sometimes he just doesn't 'click' with girls and walks off but he is a regular and when he does 'click' with girls it works out. He said he didn't like my face 😐

Tbh I'm more pissed as I didn't get cab fare or anything and wasted my Friday night going to a booking that never happened and wasted my money and time.

I heard some people take a taxi fare. I got nothing.

I know it sounds insane but I think this was oddly good :/

I was always scared of rejection and how I'd cope but for whatever reason I'm like 'well I look how I look and I'm not changing my face. If he doesn't like it someone else will'!

This has oddly actually boosted my self esteem :/

I can't change who I am and I accept it so if a client doesn't. Tough.

Woke up feeling much better

You go girl! Haha.

If he does it regularly, I wouldn't be too worried. In fact I wouldn't be too worried regardless! I haven't had a walk out yet but I'm sure when I do I won't be too bothered either. I have that "if you don't like me don't look" kind of attitude.

If a client doesn't like the way you look and doesn't want to book you after all, there are so many other men who do! X

I get exactly what you mean about it boosting your self esteem! I've had stuff like this happen and thought it would upset me but it actually made me appreciate myself and feel more content and happy in myself, which I normally struggle so much to do!

It's like their behaviour that you thought would be hurtful just isn't and you realise how much under the superficial worrying about appearance you actually really do value yourself

Dunno if explained that too well, but it's surprising when it happens. A nice surprise

Like it's nice to realise that they genuinely don't hurt you with their judgement, and it's not even bravado, you're just content and know your own worth

This may not be new to some but I'm just starting to get there

SelenaLondon 'habitual rejectors'....It's perplexing
when it happens. I think a lot of it's control driven
rather than sexual attraction.

Did he not give you a cancellation fee?
I'd generally expect 50-100 pounds for walkouts.
Agencies usually state it in their T & C.

I'd challenge an agency that repeatedly
caters for clients known for such behaviours.
An agency did this to me and I sacked them.
It would be professional to warn you and
give you the choice of seeing him or not.

At another extreme...
I met a client who books 10 girls
all at the same time, gathered in his
home and rejects 9 as unsuitable.
He's done this for 20 years with the
support of agencies.

Never had this happen to me yet.

Have had a few guys change from hour to half hour bookings when they arrive, is a bit annoying but at least it's still a booking i am getting paid for x  :)

Give it time lol. I don't mean that in a bitchy way, it really is no reflection on us.
I agree with cheesypeas, a lot of the time they just get off on it, sometimes of course there probably is something pedantic we aren't doing for them. I find it interesting that when it does happen as I said above it's actually not a confidence blow. It's reassuring I think that something you worried about wasn't actually worth worrying about at all

I would be more fucked off with this Selena. The guy himself is obviously a self entitled prick, it happens and I'm absolutely sure it was nothing to do with you. (As there's nothing in your OP to suggest you misrepresented yourself in any way).

But the agency (who work for you) knowingly sent you to him knowing he has form for this kind of thing, and presumably they don't care as it's no skin off their nose. After all, if they send this dick to enough of their girls they will eventually get paid. But you're just expected to suck it up. Not fair! xxx

Yes I agree, especially regarding transport fare. My agency have drivers so no cash for me no cash for driver. If that weren't the case I'd have asked the guy there and then for fare (hindsight/awkward situation..I understand why you may not have) so I'd be inclined to take your fare out of your next commission owed as it is the agency's fault

I know it doesn't always work out, but surely it's worth a shot to say this to them. Because really they should be taking the blow for this. How could you trust them not to do this again

You summed it up perfectly. I thought I was loosing my marbles when I woke up feeling better and having heightened confidence. I've missed out on alot of oppurtunities because i didn't feel I was confident enough/good enough. Now that i've experienced it I'm like 'it's that it ?!' It's like you build up all the nerves and then something such as this happens and you realise it's the least of your worries

I'm more concerned about missing my friends party for this booking that never happened  :P

Cudda been out with the girls or home watching ma telly! and the 20 quid i spent going there and back! that concerns me more tbh  :P than someone not liking my face. I quite love ma face  :-*

My friend who is an older WG and who has seen it all I remember asking her how she copes with it all and she said 'well after a while you develop tough skin and stop giving a shit about the small stuff'.

Thelittlematchgirl, I think I'm finally at that point  :)

I am fucked off with it Hadley. Trust me.

The agent was so calm about it like it was a giggly little game 'oh dear old... he always does this, he has done it a few times before...so sorry Selena ;D, you are stunning to us, he is just so perculiar'

erm... what ?!

Also, apparently he doesn't even see photos  ::) he just calls asking for 'a girl' and they send a girl to him. tbh, how does a punter know if he will like you if all you say is 'we have a nice ebony girl' without even seeing my photos.

And then they keep sending girls till ofcourse one clicks and they get paid.

I am leaving them. I have two interviews with other agents next week and I am finally done with setting up my indie side of things. Their way of work is trash and it's clear its a dumb game between them and their regulars and the girls time is of no value to them whatsoever.  ::)

 :o at the extreme example.

The girls are essentially interchangeable to the agencies, they don't give a flying fuck about the girls. Hence why they repeatedly keep entertaining 'regulars' who in indie world would have been blocked and classed as a timewaster ages ago.

It was only yesterday after I left that I realised that I didn't get a cancellation fee (this was a first time thing). I asked the agent and she said 'oh he is a regular' so that means he just does this pick and mix casting crap for free  ???

I'm sacking them for sure.

Tbh, their conduct and how accomodating they were of all this and have apparently been for years is enough to put me off. I'll stick to clients who have seen my photos and picked me thank you very much.

I'm really glad you're leaving Selina, you don't deserve to be treated like that.

And I know how you feel, I used to work for an agency and they would send me to guys that would sometimes be in a real, legitimate address, and sometimes not. They knew damned well they may not be at the address they gave, and they didn't care. Sometimes he'd give a fake address and they'd send a girl to that too.... and still take bookings from him at a later date!

Anyway, I'm very glad you're well, and that you're ready and able to take bookings another day. Another day another dollar :)

All best wishes

Hadley xxx

People who do this just want a reaction, it's often nothing to do with your looks, just their own issues reflected upon you. That's how I choose to see it.

I get the hour to half hour thing all the time,  usually when the dickhead has arrived late n decides he's not paying for the time he booked that has kept me waiting around wasting my time for the last 30mins. It seriously pisses me off n I argue the point but ultimately it ends up with me having to take the half hour or I lose out completely. Men who do this just shouldn't be allowed!!!

Yip.  I knew this client, went to an outcall with him once and he had a mansion (and I mean a MANSION, it was like a film star's house).  All was good.  I went the second time and he never answered the door.  I was pissed off as it was out of town, a ?25 cab fare and over an hour's round trip.  He called to book the third time and I pulled him up for the second, he said 'Oh yeah, I call and book everyone and it's first come first served, whoever gets here first gets the job'.

Asshole.  I still get mad when I think about that guy for some reason and I don't know why as I've met way worse!

I'm spitting blood at that story! I have a long term regular who admits to sending the same ' You around? X ' text to several ladies at the same time and simply ignores the rest of us if we don't respond quickly ( easiest booking in the history of the world, so I turn the occasional blind eye )
But if he EVER did anything like this, well .. I can't say on a public Forum but it WOULD be still legal.. 8)

Honestly my blood boils when I think of him and this is a long time ago.  I think the fact he had a mansion etc. made it worse somehow, as he was clearly a rich asshole with no consideration fucking around.

Got ready- he turns up 10 mins early, so I have shopping bags around the place, but I'm dolled up and in my dress and heels etc.
I say "ohh hai you're early, you've just caught me out getting ready and giggle" I ask him to take a seat and does he want something to drink and he just goes 'no sorry this won't work' and leaves.
No fee, nothing. Rang my agency and they say he's just arrogant,.  :FF

I think if they just said, you look beautiful and thankyou for coming all this way but on second thoughts your just not my type so here is taxi fair home for the effort. Some men don't realize or care the effort it takes. I'm half gay and can see a beautiful women (or man for that matter) when I see one wether I fancy them or not, does not excuse being so rude. Sure if your not into the girl appologize and walk away but that dude is ruuu--uududee.

Should have said something like "oh thank god, phew" to dent his ego back for being so unpleasant about it but I suppose you have the agencies rep to withhold  ::)

My boyfriend has a habit of calling girls ugly when they're actually absolutley stunning but just not his specific type. I don't get it and always tell him off for it when he does it.

totally I agree, this was an in-call so thankfully no taxi, but I do think they should give something.

Trust me I would have loved to have gone PHEW and it would have been a big phew believe me! But played all jolly hockysticks till left and just stood there like 'wtf'
I do think sometimes these guys do it as an ego trip. The state of this guy- if he wasn't paying- he would not have the luxury of picking and choosing hehe  ;D *rant over* lol x

I don't think reacting negatively is the best way to deal with it. You're still alone with a man who is clearly not very nice. As annoying as it is, I would just handle it calmly and politely and rant about it here after they were gone  ;D

I already wrote this in a previous post. But yes I have had it probably 3-4 times, sometimes I take it offensively and sometimes I don't. And I just had it with my last booking, I don't know maybe I'm just not their type, I don't know what there reason could be, could be that I have a baby face and look younger than I really am, maybe it's because I do have some crooked teeth, I dunno! But most of the time I get told I'm quite exotic looking, as I am Spanish with some other mixed nationalities.
Oh well - different strokes for different folks!

Happened to me today - I was chocked . I have been working in the past as independent as well as with with a couple of good London agencies and nothing like that ever happened, in fact I always received great feeback . The worst is that today was the first  job I had for a long time and it just happen , I tried to kiss the client and he sais "sorry it won't work" and when  I asked why he said "Really , it is not you , it just won't work". I always thought about how awful it would be if that ever happen to me and today for my first job it actually did happen . I had a lot of confidence issues and this job really helped to boost my confidence , but today it ruin it all , I left and started crying , I felt pathetic and really confused

Hmm I have one sentence- Agencys are complete fucking cunts they dont care about the girls hence never meeting them in the 1 i was at, nearly oined another they didnt want to meet in person either so didnt bother & went independant. all they care about is getting their share for sitting on their asses & doing sweet fuck all compared to what the girls do!

This has happened quite a few times to me but after they had given me the cash! not sure if they just didn't like my looks or lost their nerve...they just ran for the door saying sorry :o

I also went to an outcall and the guy nearly send me away because I looked too young :o it was a dinner date so I did not want to loose that booking so I just chatted to him for a while and made him realise I was no spring chicken :-*

This guy kept texting and phoning me asking if he could see me on the provider that I give him a 50% discount. I saved his number as timewaster however it's been dead all day today and stupidly decided to go against my better judgement and see him on the condition that he paid the full amount. He said ok and I text him the address ( not the door number). He arrived on time but looked nervous and had his arms folded. I said ok, let's sort out the money and he said " no, I've changed my mind". I said " why", he said " because I'm nervous" I said ok well your going to have to pay a cancellation fee of ?20. He refused saying that I have wasted his time as well!   Slightly peeved. Received 2 fields  recently, positive feedback and regulars wanting overnighters. I'm not arrogant, far from it! to be honest I'm feeling rather insecure. Is this normal, has anyone ever experienced a walkout before?

What a prick! Sorry this happened to you but you shouldn't take it personally. With the best will in the world we can't screen out all the time wasters so the best thing to do is put it down to experience and remember all the lovely clients who appreciate you! They are the ones who make this job worthwhile, so forget the losers. It sounds like this one just slipped through your net unfortunately xx

FP, it does knock your confidence when this does happen.  What you have to realise is, there are some guys who just do it for kicks.

There is also the chance that they don't fancy us, that is allowed too.  How many guys have we serviced that we didn't fancy.  We gotta remember that these guys are paying a fair bit for our time and it's their call.

Just go to bed and chill with choc and TV and get it out of your head.

Thanks Amy for merging. My post looked a bit lonely by itself lol

Thanks Ameliahoney

My monthly is due in a few days which doesn't help and I haven't made back the money I spent on this hotel. I hate loosing money. But it was my fault. I knew he was a time waster but desperation to recover todays costs took over. Luckily I'm not a big spender,   otherwise I wouldn't be posting on Saafe I'd be busy eating myself into a coma.

But your right Miss Ameliahoney, I saw an awesome client on Wednesday, a regular who bought me a beautiful necklace. It wasn't uber expensive but it really made my day. My face hurt from all the smiling.

Thanks Lady Lust.  Yeah, guess your right..........ok, off to see how many choc bars I can stick in my mouth before I fall asleep xxx
