Wow. So I had my first ever walk out
« on: 18 April 2015, 09:52:17 am »
last night.

Strangely, I'm not upset.

It was an Asian guy the agency sent. He took one look at me and said 'this won't work out' and walked off. I was literally standing there for like 5 minutes with my mouth hanging open.

The agent said he has done it before to another girl and sometimes he just doesn't 'click' with girls and walks off but he is a regular and when he does 'click' with girls it works out. He said he didn't like my face 😐

Tbh I'm more pissed as I didn't get cab fare or anything and wasted my Friday night going to a booking that never happened and wasted my money and time.

I heard some people take a taxi fare. I got nothing.

I know it sounds insane but I think this was oddly good :/

I was always scared of rejection and how I'd cope but for whatever reason I'm like 'well I look how I look and I'm not changing my face. If he doesn't like it someone else will'!

This has oddly actually boosted my self esteem :/

I can't change who I am and I accept it so if a client doesn't. Tough.

Woke up feeling much better

You go girl! Haha.

If he does it regularly, I wouldn't be too worried. In fact I wouldn't be too worried regardless! I haven't had a walk out yet but I'm sure when I do I won't be too bothered either. I have that "if you don't like me don't look" kind of attitude.

If a client doesn't like the way you look and doesn't want to book you after all, there are so many other men who do! X

I get exactly what you mean about it boosting your self esteem! I've had stuff like this happen and thought it would upset me but it actually made me appreciate myself and feel more content and happy in myself, which I normally struggle so much to do!

It's like their behaviour that you thought would be hurtful just isn't and you realise how much under the superficial worrying about appearance you actually really do value yourself

Dunno if explained that too well, but it's surprising when it happens. A nice surprise

Like it's nice to realise that they genuinely don't hurt you with their judgement, and it's not even bravado, you're just content and know your own worth

This may not be new to some but I'm just starting to get there

SelenaLondon 'habitual rejectors'....It's perplexing
when it happens. I think a lot of it's control driven
rather than sexual attraction.

Did he not give you a cancellation fee?
I'd generally expect 50-100 pounds for walkouts.
Agencies usually state it in their T & C.

I'd challenge an agency that repeatedly
caters for clients known for such behaviours.
An agency did this to me and I sacked them.
It would be professional to warn you and
give you the choice of seeing him or not.

At another extreme...
I met a client who books 10 girls
all at the same time, gathered in his
home and rejects 9 as unsuitable.
He's done this for 20 years with the
support of agencies.

Never had this happen to me yet.

Have had a few guys change from hour to half hour bookings when they arrive, is a bit annoying but at least it's still a booking i am getting paid for x  :)

Give it time lol. I don't mean that in a bitchy way, it really is no reflection on us.
I agree with cheesypeas, a lot of the time they just get off on it, sometimes of course there probably is something pedantic we aren't doing for them. I find it interesting that when it does happen as I said above it's actually not a confidence blow. It's reassuring I think that something you worried about wasn't actually worth worrying about at all

I would be more fucked off with this Selena. The guy himself is obviously a self entitled prick, it happens and I'm absolutely sure it was nothing to do with you. (As there's nothing in your OP to suggest you misrepresented yourself in any way).

But the agency (who work for you) knowingly sent you to him knowing he has form for this kind of thing, and presumably they don't care as it's no skin off their nose. After all, if they send this dick to enough of their girls they will eventually get paid. But you're just expected to suck it up. Not fair! xxx

Yes I agree, especially regarding transport fare. My agency have drivers so no cash for me no cash for driver. If that weren't the case I'd have asked the guy there and then for fare (hindsight/awkward situation..I understand why you may not have) so I'd be inclined to take your fare out of your next commission owed as it is the agency's fault

I know it doesn't always work out, but surely it's worth a shot to say this to them. Because really they should be taking the blow for this. How could you trust them not to do this again

You summed it up perfectly. I thought I was loosing my marbles when I woke up feeling better and having heightened confidence. I've missed out on alot of oppurtunities because i didn't feel I was confident enough/good enough. Now that i've experienced it I'm like 'it's that it ?!' It's like you build up all the nerves and then something such as this happens and you realise it's the least of your worries

I'm more concerned about missing my friends party for this booking that never happened  :P

Cudda been out with the girls or home watching ma telly! and the 20 quid i spent going there and back! that concerns me more tbh  :P than someone not liking my face. I quite love ma face  :-*

My friend who is an older WG and who has seen it all I remember asking her how she copes with it all and she said 'well after a while you develop tough skin and stop giving a shit about the small stuff'.

Thelittlematchgirl, I think I'm finally at that point  :)

I am fucked off with it Hadley. Trust me.

The agent was so calm about it like it was a giggly little game 'oh dear old... he always does this, he has done it a few times before...so sorry Selena ;D, you are stunning to us, he is just so perculiar'

erm... what ?!

Also, apparently he doesn't even see photos  ::) he just calls asking for 'a girl' and they send a girl to him. tbh, how does a punter know if he will like you if all you say is 'we have a nice ebony girl' without even seeing my photos.

And then they keep sending girls till ofcourse one clicks and they get paid.

I am leaving them. I have two interviews with other agents next week and I am finally done with setting up my indie side of things. Their way of work is trash and it's clear its a dumb game between them and their regulars and the girls time is of no value to them whatsoever.  ::)

 :o at the extreme example.

The girls are essentially interchangeable to the agencies, they don't give a flying fuck about the girls. Hence why they repeatedly keep entertaining 'regulars' who in indie world would have been blocked and classed as a timewaster ages ago.

It was only yesterday after I left that I realised that I didn't get a cancellation fee (this was a first time thing). I asked the agent and she said 'oh he is a regular' so that means he just does this pick and mix casting crap for free  ???

I'm sacking them for sure.

Tbh, their conduct and how accomodating they were of all this and have apparently been for years is enough to put me off. I'll stick to clients who have seen my photos and picked me thank you very much.
