Would you sell your story......?
« on: 11 November 2011, 02:17:16 pm »
Ooooo my first "new topic".....was just reading the thread about famous clients and wondered if you've ever been tempted to sell your story; or even if youve never had a famous guy, this is just for fun.....what would you do? And if you did, why?

I personally wouldn't but would love to hear your reasons.......

No. I loathe the tabloids and never read them and certainly wouldn't sell my soul to them for a few quid.
In all honesty I can't really see anyone coming on here and admitting they shagged some 'celebrity'  last week and were about to out themselves and said celebrity for the sake of 20k or whatever they'd get.

I wouldn't do a "my sex with Jedward hell" style kiss-and-tell to the papers.   ??? ??? (Look, it's Jedward!)
If I have a long and interesting prossie career, I'd consider doing a book though.

It's a disgrace to the profession when ladies do that to those guys. We are supposed to be like doctors and keep it confidential.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

I agree - if you have something genuinely interesting to say about the world, a book is good! But going to the spawn-of-satan tabloids to sell a tedious "scandal" story that just makes you look like an idiot? Er, no thanks. In my perfect, imaginary version of the world, tabloids & crappy media in general just wouldn't exist, so the likelihood of me selling a story that, at the end of the day, some rich tabloid-owning media mogul would profit off far more than I ever would just goes against my very nature. *grumbles*

Er, and yes, I take discretion seriously and even in a book would never mention a client's name! No point - again, it'd just make you look bad (and get sued, possibly!). So making ?20k (if anyone would even pay that much these days?) would be nothing compared to what you'd lose in the long term.

I've never understood the desire to be "famous" (aka bitched about by thousands of people you've never even met) so I don't think I'll ever understand reality TV, tabloids or Jeremy Kyle. ;D

Not on your life.

Spilling your guts for what.

Not worth the backlash and the stigma that goes with it we can have enough of that anyway without making it any worse.

I have very little respect for people who sell their stories  ??? And the tabloids have a long history of being very brutal with kiss'n'tell girls. For instance, Katie Price and others are constantly referred to as 'the tarts.' It just never ends well for anyone involved, and you can kiss goodbye to a decent reputation after the event.

I do know someone who did.

Week one story: "Person we can call famous even though 99% of you wouldn't recognise them pays for sex, shock".

Week two story, from the same paper: "And here's lots of nasty stuff on the escort".

Exactly. You'd regret doing it immediately, and it's disgraceful behaviour.

Not in a million years, nor for all the money in the world.

Fortunately, I would say those that would are in the minority.

Yo :) I started the famous client thread and just thought I'd chuck my two cents...

Categorically NO. I'd never go near the press, I agree with much of the above, it's not worth it! I guess it just boils down to having a bit of respect.
