Working with swollen eyes
« on: 08 August 2016, 03:46:47 pm »
So I developed a real bad eye infection on tour and I'm on drops/antibiotics but it's taking forever to go down. The infection itself is gone but the swelling is still there. It literally looks like I've been punched but I can't take any more days off (I've taken about 4 off). I'm worried clients will think I've been punched or something and it'll put them off... have you ever worked with an injury/affliction to your face and how did you manage it? One of my eyes is smaller than the other, it's not AS noticeable now but it is noticeable. Any tips & encouragement very very welcome, I feel so self conscious!

If it is contagious it is best to not work as bad reviews hinder business. It is nearly healed so not long now. :) Hang on in there.

I had a secondary eye infection (as result of an allergic reaction to an insect bite) I was back and forth to A&E who wouldn't even believe I'd bitten or examine the eye! Next day instead of being just majorly puffed out there was nasty stuff coming out the eye so had to get an emergency doc appointment. Since it was bacterial it wasn't contagious, I did see a client that evening but by then the special eye drops had really helped. Next day tho a touchy feely client was touching too near my eyes tho so I had to warn him off.

This was over 2 weeks ago and the eyes still feel sore & delicate. Hope yours heal soon.

Since a few days ago, I am having the same problem.   :( It seems some escorts are getting their eye infection (conjunctivitis) .  One of the commonest maladies in escorts!!! ? ! Likely from punter's unwashed hands....... >:(

I took a couple of days off but worked today (sadly, can't afford to stay home without working).  I did warn the clients that I did develop these crappy eyes and if they wish, they can choose to cancel / reschedule etc.   :) It doesn't look like the swelling is going down anytime soon.  I was given some eye drops over the weekend.  Like the OP stated, it's taking forever to go down.   ::)
