Work persona
« on: 26 April 2015, 10:16:13 am »
I was going to ask this in relation to the "worrying about this job affecting you psychologically later" thread but thought it's probably going off topic there

Obviously I'm familiar with what a work persona is but I don't think I have one, I still just act like myself but just making the effort to be nice and friendly like I did in other customer service jobs.

So was curious do many of you have a work persona? And how do you implement it, mentally or otherwise? Basically how, why, what why? lol

Ask me something and I'll tell you???

Sorry I know this is a crap answer.   :-[

Not really.. Probably like yourself, being friendly and chatty when I'm in a c*** of a mood lol, or kiddin on I'm really
horny and into it when I'm not..
But I don't think I act any different than who/what I am..
Gonna pay attention and see if I do  ;)

Yeah sort of, I guess I've got more attitude, walk taller, swing my hips more...I suppose I try to be my most perfect self for that hour, but with a fake backstory and a bit of attitude thrown in (in a good way, btw!)

I see it like someone playing a part, so I get myself 'into character' and then go off and see the guy.

I hope all that makes sense.

It does, that's interesting. I can't imagine being able to act etc so easily and often, it's just not in me
Is your backstory very different to your real self?

It is and it isn't...it's similar to my real life, but with some details changed, mostly just to keep work and real life seperate and to stop them from knowing the real CG, the details that are changed are things I know very well or have been very close to, it's maybe just not been in exactly the way I've said.

But lots of girls do similar things, I've seen lots of people talking about posting on blogs and saying for example 'I was posting about the kind of music she would like...' Meaning their alter ego WG persona.

I'm probably overdramatising it, it's not like I'm at home learning lines and so on!  It's just that before I walk into a job I take a breath, straighten myself up and 'get into character!'

I don't act different at all, personally. Even my life details remain the same, but I'm 'out' so I'm aware not everyone has that luxury.

I'm just a bit more patient. No, I'll be honest, sometimes a LOT more patient. Like you know if a client is doing something that if a partner did you'd tell them to stop, or if they're not doing something quite right yet you daren't say anything?

I think I'm naturally fairly nice and easygoing, but I am occasionally rolling my eyes or gritting my teeth when they're hard work.

I'm more flirty and girly, also I bear will all that bullshit normally I don't have patience for. I act more open and friendly than I am in real life (normally I'm very reserved and careful with people but punters seem to see me as very genuine and honest lol)

I don't escort yet but on cam I am a lot more openly sexual.  Im very sexual anyway but I dull it down irl because its not appropriate very often but on Cam I totally play up to that side of me.  My background is similar but elaborated - I do like to keep the 2 totally separate though and feel that the 'act' I put on when on cam helps with that

When i first began I aimed for "secret diary of a call girl" < sex kitten, sex god, sex sex sex slutty girl next door type of personna. But my real personality slipped out too much so i switched up my profile & personna to just being natural dorky self & it got a good reception so bonus!

But i'm no more edited than when out around people I don't know. When i'm out and about around people I like I'll wont slouch, i'll try be witty, I'll be more friendly & bite my tounge at things I don't agree with. So a persona i wouldn't say so. I have a bedroom personna which my boyfriend has told me is weird, i'm like a different person, but that part comes naturalley so not like i put it on
