Work Clothes / Seaperate wardrobe
« on: 24 May 2010, 02:34:10 pm »
I have been guilty of wearing the same clothes for clients as I would wear for myself but now I have a little bit more money I really want to separate the two.  Is this what most ladies do?  How do you keep it so separate, does the escort you only wear certain colours or styles?

It's easy for me because in all my roles in life that aren't to do with escorting (student, part-time worker-from-home and general lazy bum) I tend to wear a variation on what some people might unkindly term my "goddamn pajamas". Obviously, I put shoes on to go outside. And jeans instead of ancient pajama shorts with holes in. But that's all I change!

That's probably why I sigh from the effort when clients request I dress in my normal clothes! Because I know they are actually picturing this, not this (with even less makeup). So I have put together some special cheap but very cheerful outfits that are my "I honestly spend the day in this cute white skirt and pretty top" solutions for clients that want a girl-next-door experience.

The clothes that I wear on the rare occasions that I go out and paint the town a vibrant shade of cerise with my chums are, frankly, way too cool for clients to understand. Skinny jeans/shift dresses/oversize tees/leggings? They'd have a heart attack. I have a range of sexy wrap dresses that are easy to slip in and out of, plus great for both in- and outcalls, for the majority of my clients. Often I get a "wow!" at how easily they can unwrap their little gift to themselves. ;D Plus I can gain probably two stone before a wrap dress won't fit anymore, thank god.

I wear the exact same stuff for both. Before I became an escort I always thought I was the 'type' most escorts are - a huge attention seeker, exhibitionist and, lets be honest, a bit of a slut :P Since getting into the industry I've been surprised to realise that most ladies actually like to keep the two parts of their lives separate and don't like to draw the eye so much when they're not working.

I didn't have to buy much new when I started, really! A few conservative outfits for getting in and out of hotels, and that was about it! I pretty much live in low cut tops, short skirts, high heels and optional stockings. I also wear a metric fuckton of makeup to go down the local shops.

The one big difference is hair - I do nothing with it for normal life :D Much too lazy!

God no, every bit of space I use to store clothes is overflowing as it is. If I buy clothes for anything specific I always want to find other uses for it anyway. I'm doing most of my bookings in casual clothes now anyway, it looks good and saves me spending half an hour picking an outfit.

Generally my escorting clothes are very different from my normal life clothes. For escorting I wear short clingy dresses that probably aren't considered decent (hence why I have a longish coat for outcalls!). In normal life I'm usually in jeans and a t shirt (blouse if it's a smart day or a skirt if it's particularly hot). So, quite different. Though, weirdly enough, I do find most of the clothes I buy for myself ultimately end up being used for escorting, so maybe they're not as separate as I thought. x

You are right about the long coat Alexa, they are great for outcalls. A posh trench coat and a pair of boots that wont cripple you will get you in any hotel. Or a pair of flip-flops in your bag in case you cant walk in heels, its easy to change them just before you get to reception.
Posh coat is v.handy too when nipping to the petrol station for late night munch too. Saves the bother of getting dressed.  ;D
I love shopping for "Cindy" she/I wear short dresses mainly with costume jewelry and killer heels. For real life its pretty much jeans. But just now I like the PJs I got from River Island. Its my best top!

I wear "long" clingy tops for work, supposedly as a dress.  Then I slip on a pair of trousers to go out.

Or, this is my outcall outfit and I slip off the trousers to reveal stockings and a mini dress.

For older clients I have a black wrap dress, which is also my dinner date outfit.

I live in a dressing gown or jodphurs.  Mind you I do a lot of bookings in my riding kit!

I also have a posh summer dress for functions that I bought for escorting but is equally useful for private use.

I totally do this - I have a habit of walking to outcalls if they're less than 30mins away from mine, and that would result in sore feet by the end of the night if I did it in heels!

Me too! No point not walking/getting the Tube at least on the way back - especially if the hotel is a right journey away cos it'll always be near a station even if that station is on the other side of town. Sometimes I do taxi there if it's hot (ahem not that I get sweaty or anything so unladylike! :P) but I love walking home. Used to especially love it after an outcall... the freedom of the cool morning breeze and the entire city as my playground after a long, stuffy night being groped in bed!

I too take flat black ballerina shoes for the walk to and from the hotel to the train station but I change into my heels in the lift and vice versa on the way out! (as long as there's no one in it with me!)

I don't really differentiate my clothes.  I have a nice black fitted dress and black heels that I put on for every outcall with my hold ups/stockings and sexy underwear underneath and it just looks like smart business attire.  I would certainly wear it to a day in the office or an interview.  Its zipped up at the back so I keep it sexy by requesting the client unzip it and remove it for me.    ;)

My "work" clothes are exactly the same as my "social/student/down-right-lazy" clothes - purely because I'm such an awkward height with an equally awkward body frame, I find it thoroughly depressing to go shopping on a regular basis (not to mention expensive - I usually pay more because it's in the "tall section"). The only difference I make is that I will make the effort to make sure the lingerie matches (or, at least, is the same colour!) and I never wear heels (guys tend to be shorter than me anyway so I don't want them to have too much of a Napoleon complex); luckily, I'm a pretty classic dresser so there's tons of versitility in my wardrobe. And regardless of all that, I'd much rather buy clothes to impress me and my friends rather than a client who really couldn't care less what I'm wearing on the outside when we're behind closed doors. Obviously, I won't attract more attention than I have to and will comply with requests when made if I can (white lingerie? Fine. Latex? Might have a bit of a problem there) but other than that, I simply can't be bothered and I'm not suffering for it yet.   8)

Where do you get your wrap dresses?I have some but only in a size 10 as I bought them when they were all the rage 4-5 years back. Would love to wear them again but need a different size now and can't find anything in the shops at the moment.

Hmm, mine are pretty old now too and you're right, there really aren't as many in the shops as there used to be. I actually made my last one as there are tonnes of patterns (Simplicity, etc) for them; they must be the simplest thing to sew.

More helpfully: Asos.com and JohnLewis.com have useful search functions on their sites so I found a few wrap dresses - Asos used to be okay but now the prices and garments are tending towards the ridiculous! Ooh, but a search on this site looks a bit more promising, less maternity and less ?300 stuff! Apparently there's a simple black wrap dress at Wallis for ?20 in the sale. Excuse me while I buy it. ;D

I do tend to buy certain things with escorting in mind e.g. posh frocks for dinner dates but most of my clothes are interchangeable. My going out clothes tend to be more funky and sexy and not really suitable for dinner dates as they are mostly older clients. I do have friends who keep things totally and completely separate - even down to make up!
