Ok someone said this to me recently (who knows what I do) and it irritated the hell out of me, although I couldn't entirely work out why except that they may think they are 'above' paying or something like that.  It must be more than that tho to annoy me so much!

I think it stung me A LOT because it was just after I'd told him what I do.  I won't be making that mistake again

Unless he's supremely attractive (and even then), it's unlikely he can 'have' the range of women available to him through paid means. There are many things in the world one can have for free or pay for, and the decision depends upon needs and circumstances and the quality and availability of the 'free' version. But the fact is, with sex, that demand for women will always outstrip supply: hence, a market for paid sex.

[Also I was lurking on Punternet last night and someone had in their signature: "The difference between free sex and paid sex is that paid sex costs you less." Pretty apt.]

Methinks he doth protest too much.  A very very defensive response IMO.

I agree with what a few of you have said - it WAS v defensive.  This was not anyone I've 'met' via any escorting site, just someone I chat to online and thought he'd be a safe person to tell as he doesn't know anyone I know, I've been bursting to tell someone - this was obviously the wrong someone!
