How do you imagine your life and economic situation when you can not continue this work?
 

I imagine when I am old in the Caribbean, where I am from, I have made investments in land and rooms for rent, I intend to make a business to sell water, ice and live on my rents ...

I have heard many stories, generally Latinas who have come abroad to do this job, since they were young, they did not invest their money and they were poor when they can no longer work because of their age.

Interesting thread. Would love to know what others think. May be it will inspire me to make some positive changes and long term setting goals. As of now, i dont have any plan for retiring or old age. After paying bills and spending on little luxuries, dont have much to save atm.

Glad someone mentioned this as it's something I'm looking into this at the moment. I'm not near retirement age but after 10 years anda few attempts to go into the civvie world of work I've decided I'm just better when escorting.

Saving for a new mortgage is my main goal but I'm looking into pensions or investments as well as I really don't fancy this job at 75 I'm already not the healthiest of people. Curious to know people's plans for retirement and residual income as it's bothering me how fickle the industry can be and that I'm spoiled and can't live of a state pension. I did have a holiday home I rented a few years back working along the lines of building income while i worked a few years (lol. I'm still here) but I'm reluctant to do so again as turned into a disaster when a few chalets a nearby fell off a cliff and prices crashed, pension plans look a little bleak from what freinds are telling me so Im hoping this thread may motivate me to pull my finger out or give me ideas of what to look into, not sure if sex work or just self employment related in my case though.

I started in this business at 38.  I don't own a house as I can't get a morgage, which is odd as my rent is higher than what a morgage would be.  I had a lot of debt when I started.  The debt is going down, and I have managed to put a little away.  I very much doubt I'll be able to afford to retire, so body and looks permitting, I'll probably be doing this until the day of my funeral, lol, as the money I've saved is definitely not enough to live on.
