I think he knew the rate and just stupidly thought he would have a go at haggling.I would have just said it is 60 as advertised and reminded him that you don't really appreciate haggling.I would not have made up an excuse to cancel.If he really was sat outside it might have made him rethink about last minute haggling with folk in the future.

I probably would have cancelled, but not invented an unrelated excuse. Probably something like, "I think you're right - 50 would be better for you. I wish you luck in finding another masseuse at your preferred rate."
I think making a point has just cost you 60 quid. It's something I do, and it's cost me plenty over the years. You're not alone - I suspect everyone cuts their nose off to spite their face, once in a while.
We get days like this but hey that's how we manage to stay sane by getting all the d...heads out the way.I believe that if they annoy me before the booking then its all down hill from there.Every time I have given them the benefit of the doubt they go ahead and prove me right that I must stick to my gut instincts...
