I?m actually in a state of shock while writing this!...
Last night I received a call from a guy who was previously a no show.
Now, I?m usually happy to see people if they cancel with notice but the call I received was from a guy who had not bothered to contact me until a good few hours after the missed appointment. As such I stored his number as no show. I never pick up calls from these guys again. However he has been calling repeatedly and finally I relented.
Anyway, he asks for another appointment. I replied ?when hell freezes over? and citing his previous poor performance as the reason why. He was very apologetic, promising he would turn up this time but I still wasn?t prepared to take the chance (make a fool of me once, shame on you, make a fool of me twice, shame on me...).
So
he says to show he?s genuine, not only will he pay for the hour he now wants as an upfront payment BUT ALSO for the hour he missed last time. He promised to make an online payment today. I gave him the details*** and thought nothing of it, other than ?great another few minutes of my life wasted in a pointless conversation?.
I didn?t even log in today to see if the ?280.00 was there. Then a few minutes ago, I got a text from the guy saying please check you have received payment...
OMFG! It?s all there!!!!
I nearly choked on a pringle when I saw the amount on the screen. Hell has definitely frozen over, because I?ve agreed to see him now! lol
Soooooo, the moral of this story is - that occasionally, very occasionally, the complete ?wasters? can actually be diamonds in disguise. It?s also a lesson is never say never!
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
***any newbies reading this ? I?m not condoning giving your personal banking details to any random geezer who phones up and asks. I gave details of a business account (which is set up in my working name and at a completely fake address) for the purposes of paying in only. Other than that, the account in question is always empty of funds***.
