Universal credit bank transfer advance.
« on: 26 March 2020, 06:11:16 pm »
To those of you who were self employed and now have no income apply now for your universal credit and they may advance you up to 764 pounds just now which you pay back over 12 months from end of April when or if your universal credit starts. You apply on line then it will ask you to call the number. You then write in the journal that you can’t get through and the Job centre will call you back. You get the money during the phone call.

I was advanced the 764. They phoned me later and it turned out my pension was slightly too high to get the Universal credit. However, that may change if I go for the work capability one or get pip. Waiting.  But they are not chasing the money back till end of April and will be payable over 12 months. But it came in handy today. The money was transferred while I was talking on the phone. They are not asking for evidence at the moment. They will take your word and you need to get the documents in after Covid19 over xx

Note that everyone's payments will be different depending on circumstances, ie dependents, partner in/out of work, rent amount etc.

I tried to apply for universal credit today, when I had to submit my identity I seemed to have problems and it said that my identity wasn’t verified. Has anyone else had this problem? I didn’t know you was able to get 764 from universal credit. I thought they only paid around 70 a week? I don’t have children so I’m not sure how much I would be entitled to

For a single person with no dependants you will get £409 standard allowance (up from £317 due to welfare increase due to COVID) then if your need the housing element you would get an extra £258 towards your rent depending on area. So around £650.

Just click the option to say you can’t verify then they will give a number to call. Wait a day then go on the journal and say you’ve tried to call and can’t get through. They will call you and arrange a telephone call to you.

Yes but everybody can get the 764 loan.

No, they can't. Anybody with capital of more than £16000 including property that you own but don't live in, gets nothing. It doesn't matter if you've got 37p in your purse and nothing else.

Is none of this information really on any of the finance/government sites?

That's really awful. In this country if you have nothing to your name you get help( Which encourages many not to try and make better), I am actually someone who owns nothing but rents social housing, But still if anyone wants to save and work hard to own a home then no help even if you only have a few pence to physically live. I started escorting after my dad died and my mum ended up with nothing and working long hours for a min wage after years of being my dads carer. Most of us women have been caring and looking after family and kids or broken away from controlling relationships. Oldest profession and yet still a stigma.

How many of us girls can say we offer counselling, Comfort and more than just sex.

Sorry to ramble a bit but we all get it from so many angles for our choice to be a sex worker.

You'd need to have over 16k in savings or property to not be eligible. If you have 16k in the bank, you wouldn't need to apply surely?

And how does one pay bills with property, LM? Or are you suggesting we try to eat it?

I was talking about having 16k in savings. But people that can afford to have 2 houses, surely have a bit of money in their pocket. If not, then it does suck.

You definitely don't all get the big advance. I just called, and only qualified for £350 advance, which is helpful, but I'd hoped for more.

Not necessarily.

First unless tenanted the other property is in many areas subject to full council tax, also on purchase stamp duty happens from first penny of value.

The person may have put together all or most of their savings to purchase it, or be mortaged up to the hilt.

To sell costs money, takes time and right now sales are affected because so I hear the completion process is affected.

I used to make assumptions about second home owners, and I know of the effects on towns in which many properties are second homes BUT some of those assumptions changed once I became aware of the other side.

Same repairs, upkeep, things go wrong as for first homes and with no landlord the owner has to upkeep. Buying my first home only a few years ago opened my eyes to ongoing maintenance and 'improvements' which previously were only an inconvenience.

This is the problem with an OP posting how much they received, I would guess every case is different.

It is not a problem she just posted to be helpful by telling us her story of what she got. But benefit help has always been different amounts for different situations and depending who is in your house hold.

Everybody will get different amounts that is how it is and for us to find out.

To do with other people or sex workers having a second property sometimes there worse off then somebody with 1 property when people do not pay the mortgage and they got to cover it or do repairs or still pay council tax if it is empty.

Considering a second property might be considered an asset but it is not like you can sell it now or rent it right now to get money so those people need help too if they do not have savings otherwise it is extremely unfair plus there will still be bills needing paying at the second property.
