Now I am beginning to want to work in the U.K.

Im on another forum here in the states and have heard 2-3 stories about male escorts getting 'caught' for prostituition at various hotels. All 3 of the stories also happened to be in cities where I've worked and advertised, with no problem. Im not sure why they are targetting these guys, but its starting to make me nervous :-\

I havent had any run-ins (knock on hard, hard wood!) but just the idea of knowing it can happen, just have to keep it in the back of your mind. Because there is a whole process to go through here in the states. Why cant we be as liberal as Britain? Why!?

Ah Joey, it's a crazy world...

We don't have the death penalty, can't be criminalised for the work we do (well this job anyway), we have an effective train network, invented Harry Potter, contraception is free and easy to access and the freedom to practice religion and speech.

But....

We do insert numerous additional letters into the language, wasting literally hours of our lives that we'll never get back (see colour, humour or traveller for examples), we have an all year round rainy season, our petrol is ludicrously expensive and just got more so over the weekend, we're all forced to study Shakespeare at school and really don't have a very sexy government unlike yours (Obama is hot!). Worst of all, we don't have root beer or Reese Peanut butter cups as standard otherwise I would be very fat.

But if you do come over, bring a case of the last two and I'll marry you for a green card.

At the risk of sounding like a pedant, it's more a case of the Americans omitting certain letters and changing some around, like centre/center, then the English inserting them. Webster created the American English dictionary deliberately different to what was and is the English language as we now know it.
Agree with you though re: the bad weather and the expensive petrol. And yes, give me Obama over Brown any day.

When in the states, I found myself heartily sick of sprite and coke. I scoured the supermarkets for a bottle of orange pop! I was impressed by the speedy service in MacDonalds though. The mexican guy at the store asked me if we got Spanish radio in europe, I was like, ummm yes Spain is in europe.....! Maybe we could do an exchange visit Joey?

lol, I was just thinking the other day...If I visit the U.K., I wont find any cute Spanish guys  :(  But then I realize Spain is right next door, the motherland! How are the Spaniards in London anyway? I know in the U.S., we have the 'immigrants' then we have the 'Americanized'.

Americanized tend to be alot more open-minded e.g. New York versus places like Texas and California....totally different men, totally different thinking...
