Also, I'm pretty sure some guys respond to the question, "Where did you see my advert?" by just making up the first random thing they can think of.
"Well, I was strolling through the park today and someone happened to trip over and fall in front of me. Now, would you believe it, but this guy's phone slipped out of his pocket and rolled all the way over the grass to rest at my feet. Brave and kind soul as I am, I bent down to pick it up and what did I see on the screen but YOUR WEBSITE? Goodness me. It's all such a marvellous coinkydink. So that's where I got your number from - because I have a photographic memory - and please can you now list your services and physical attributes in graphic detail?"
That's why I never bother asking.
I make sure all my ads link to my website (apart from my AW profile because they hate my site for some reason, but my profile's got all the same information anyway) and on the very rare occasions someone seems honestly confused about who I am and what I charge etc, I explain politely that I can't discuss all that on the phone and that I will text them my website address if they like. End call swiftly, send text, probably never hear back.
Trying to act all innocently confused about rates and services is usually just a lame way to try to push you into doing what they want. Like a small child pretending they "forgot" their bedtime was 8pm. If the client is genuine, they will actually be happy for you to explain things and text your website link. So either way, no time or effort wasted.
