Title: Things To Do (Besides Dusting Your Phone) When You Are Bored
Post by: Fabulassie on 13 March 2015, 11:57:47 pm
Especially for those of us who work from a dedicated incall flat and actually go and sit there during out available hours... what are some things we can do to pass the time? I mean, I mostly sit and fuck around on the Internet. Sometime I read a bit. Every once in a while I will watch a movie. Why I don't do more reading and less clicky-clicky on Facebook, I couldn't tell you.

So, I could read more. I did bring my knitting bag into my work flat but for some reason I can't get into knitting again (I completed one half of one leg warmer. Perhaps I should attempt something a little more complicated to really occupy my mind. But then I will lose count of my stitches every time the phone rings with another TW.)

Sometimes I do some exercises with my free weights. I can do quite a lot of exercise throughout the day. I write down a group of exercises (ex: squats, bent-over rows, shoulder presses, push-ups) and tick off sets on the sheet of paper. I can get through 100 squats a day that way. Why don't I do this more often? Why do I just sit on my sofa (the least comfortable sofa in the world) and just surf the 'net?

I mean, I have all this free time. I could be accomplishing something with it! And I don't really do anything. Been reading War and Peace a few pages a day for months. I could have finished it by now if I were reading with the same dedication I had when I read Anna Karenina for a book club years ago. Hell, I could study a foreign language or something.

But I don't. I just post bollocks on here and look at pictures of cats on Facebook.

What do you guys do? Maybe you can inspire me.

Maybe we can encourage one another. Like, after we have our little moan on "Slow At The Minute Or Just Me?" we can come here and post little happy updates about how we've just mastered conjugating three new German verbs or have made some fantastic new fishing flies or completed a sock.

This is a really good idea. One of the things I find worst about doing incalls is the hanging around between clients. I always take a book and a few productive things to do but just find I can't settle down and actually do something - or I find myself looking at the clock every 2 minutes and fidgeting. I think I've cancelled bookings and left early nearly every time I've worked from a hotel, I just find it so mind numbingly boring and just want to go home.

I find yoga useful, it stops me feeling as fidgety and claustrophobic. I don't take my yoga mat as it's a bit bulky to carry around but I use a clean towel instead. The type of yoga I tend to do is ashtanga which is fairly fast moving so quite a good cardiovascular workout and you learn set sequences to practice (I'm sure there are loads on youtube for working out different parts of the body).

Apart from that I find I just can't settle down and focus on anything ??? so I usually end up planning what I need to get on my way home, what I'm going to have for dinner, writing a list of stuff to do, ordering things I need online (tesco food orders etc.), replying to texts and emails I'd forgotten about, planning trips to see my parents.. boring stuff like that but then I at least feel like I've actually achieved something rather than just watching daytime TV.

I think the problem is down to concentration. Like I said about knitting something complicated: I'm not going to be able to fully focus on anything. So, I need to think of things that can be done in little snippets. I'm really thinking I could improve my French or German or maybe learn Italian - something I've always thought I'd like to do. I think that sort of learning goes well in small snippets. Conjugate a verb... answer the phone... write out a few sentences about ordering in a restaurant... do a booking...read a paragraph of French newspaper... then go do some push-ups.... lather, rinse, repeat and before long I'll have made an impressive amount of progress.

I also find it difficult to concentrate on doing anything constructive. I do sometimes cam while waiting for bookings but that's even worse. Waiting for a cam booking while waiting for an incall booking. I usually play word games on the Internet which helps improve my brain a little. I have also had little comfort in the flat at the moment as the couch is only being delivered today, so have been breaking my back in camping chairs. My plan was to excersise while waiting so I hopefully will put that into practice, I have also been learning French on and off for a while so think I will get back into that. Thanks for the prompt Fabulassie.

Hi guys,

I was speaking to a close friend the other day who is in the profession and she does the Incall waiting around for clients from a hotel most weeks, and as I don't I actually asked the above question to her ' what do you do whilst waiting around for clients when you get bored? '

Before I say what she does I just want to say 'If you knew the girl this would come as a surprise as she comes across very ditzy and even admits it that she does the " I'm a blonde thing " ' ( she is a close friend so I'm allowed to say it  ;D ;D ;D)

She does online courses and not just basic ones, she's done IOSH managing safely, nebosh General and she is part way through doing her nebosh international!!!! - my hubby's in this profession and even he said he couldn't believe she has done these and he was gobsmacked !

My opinion is if she can do it why not girls who are bored just do a few courses online? Gets ya brain working plus she's at a age where she's over 40 and even said she loves the profession she is in now and doesn't want to leave it! But her words " least I've got something to talk about when clients think I'm just a blonde ! " - you go girl!

So online courses when you are bored? They do cost but I'm sure you guys maybe able to put aside a few quid, I might even do one too! Just a thought x

I was in the same sitation, lots of free time but not quality free time because i had to be available. So i can't get into anything too deep because when i would get into craft projects like you said, if a client rang you'd mess it up OR be so involved in getting it finished. Can't really go see friends incase you have to dash every so often. Can't sit on your bum on the internet all day etc.

- Being the workaholic i am i set about making an online business. It keeps me busy on the side. Just selling things here and there on ebay. It's a great opportunity to work on other businesses becaues you have to stay at home so you might as well do something productive with it. Save up even a couple hundred & get the ball rolling with selling something.

- Plus yea topping up beaty regimes. I learnt how to do my own eyelash extensions which look good. Excersize etc.

- Cooking super decent meals for that day.

- Errands that can be done over the phone / online such as bill paying etc

I work mainly on short notice bookings but I really can't sit in all day. I wondered whether others do as I tend to work on a 7 day basis but not all day. Yes I do watch a bit of daytime TV but also every day I either go for hourish walk in the park, meet a friend sometimes for lunch, go shopping (too much as I tend to buy), pick niece up from school, things like that but a few times this week I've had calls from people wanting a meet in the next half hr or hr and I've been out. If I say I could meet you in an hour and a half or two hours time they say it's too late. The only other option is to work say 4 days and sit in all day and have the other 3 off but that doesn't appeal to me as much and I could lose out on regs who are sometimes more flexible but only slightly. Window of opportunity and all that.

My problem is when I'm sitting in and I've no bookings so I'm waiting for the phone to ring, I can't get into anything/
concentrate on anything coz if I do and then the phone DOES ring, I'm that engrossed in whatever i'm doing, I go
"Ah f-off, not now, i'm busy" lol, which is totally ridiculous, I know, but it gets me totally out of the zone (if I was lucky
enough to be in one on a quiet day  ;))
So I tend to just try and either fuck about on here, watch a bit of rubbish telly, try and keep busy with things around the house,
god I don't even know WHAT I do all day ?!
As long as it doesn't involve anything that involves my complete and total attention, coz then I tend to ignore the phone
and think "I'll get back to them when i'm finished with this", but by then, of course, it's too late..  ;)

Fabulasse ,,,,, just had to say your post made me giggle, the bit about "posting bollocks and looking at cats" ...................Mine is funny clips on You Tube of cats and dogs (as have one of each) do this at home as can't get decent internet connection at flat

Although I have an in-call flat I don't sit waiting for work (maybe I should as I often miss jobs cause they want to book NOW !! and I need 15 - 20 min's to get there, get changed etc), but the few times I've decided to sit in my flat and wait I am BORED ABSOLUTELY SENSELESS, plus my OH is at home so I would rather be there with him and just end up coming home (am considering working from home but that's another issue which I'll look on here for more advise - all advise gladly received  ;D)

I can always guarantee as soon as I am nearly home my phone will ring  :FF lol

For those who can get internet, might be worth going on a website called 'Loquax' which has hundreds of competitions you can enter, I've been entering comps on Loquax for about 3 years and have won all sorts, best prize ever was ?1000 in a WD40 comp and a weeks holiday in Malta but I've also won clothes, booze, food and small electrical items so at least you could possibly win something  :)

If you like Russian literature I strongly suggest The Master and Margareta!!!! Because it is breathtaking and once you open it you won't be able to close it until you've finished! It's a masterpiece, completely different from War and Peace style:) Enjoy! That novel is just amazing!

I write and mess around online  :D

I spend time enjoying selective Sky TV channels e.g. crime drama programmes and sometimes the news (until it bangs on about wars for too long) in between housework and spiritual reading but yes a lot of time is lost waiting on business and sometimes I think I should sit down and learn a language or do something more useful and interesting with my spare hours here and there but just when I get thinking about it I realise a ton of washing is waiting for me or the emails roll in and I am busy again ....!

Like Sciorce, I think I struggle with being in one mindset or the other. I am either in whore mode or ... whatever else mode. When it's busy it's easy to just stay in whore mode all day. When it's slow, I find it very hard. But if it's going to be slow I may as well try to do something constructive with the time.

I have just started learning Italian via duolingo. It's got quick and easy little lessons that are fun to do. I've ordered at text book, as well, because I like to have vocabulary and verbs and shit like that organised so that I can write them down.

Italian is not exactly a language I see myself using much. I guess it will just be something fun to do.

I should probably do a bit more housework each day. Getting up off my ass (out of that uncomfortable sofa) can't hurt.

So many great ideas here. I did start a a little up cycling furniture business a little while ago but that fell by the way side when I started in this business. I think I will get back into that again. At least chalk paint doesn't smell the place out and can be left mid job. I also did a correspondence course in proffesional stress consultancy, think I will upgrade that.
Great thread.

Isn't it???? First time I read it I was like 7! Lol not the age to read it but it's because of my mother's name. It sooooo impacted my imagination!!!!! And then I read it again and again, I actually also had a look at the censored version (hmmmm much cut off) and that book is like a fairy tale to me!!!! Not many people know it in my country unless you have a good  literary educatio but Boulgakov was a genius!!!!

It's one of those books I've meant to read and never have. At the rate I'm going, I'll finish War and Peace sometime this summer. Maybe I'll read that one, next.

I can't read Dostoyevsky at all. I mean, I get really annoyed and throw the book across the room.

Dostoyevsky is beautiful but not to be read when you are stuck lonely in a flat...
Try something "lighter" I can make a list and pm, any country preferences?

Buy some good Audio books on Audible. They have a free trial and you get 2 books for free in the first month.
I usually listen to courses from Tony Robbins to keep me positive and business minded, Seth Godin for marketing,
Ginie Sayles for a strong woman's inspiration.
It's so much easier to just listen to a book than trying to read after a job because you might not be the person to easily calm down like me.

During listening to the books I feel I am doing something productive and I also do my hair, nails, facials, workouts, stretching or clean my room.

Lol about Dostoyevsky, I only read Crime and Punishment, but it was a bit too psycho at times.

War and Peace I started gazillions of times and never really managed more than a couple of chapters.

Master and Margarita is totally different to all of above. Its totally wacky and bizarre, but it grips you and you cant put the bloody thing down.

A female Harry Potter of a Soviet Russia lol!

Does anyone find if you leave a book a out clients look at you really weird? Like they're shocked you're capable of reading more than the back of a ready meal.

I listen to radio 4 and bleach or clean my mirrors when Im bored I find it stops me feeling anxious and staring at my phone. Also reddit is a great way to loose a few hours of your life

Thanks I feel better! I am the same as others here that I'm either in the hooker zone or the normal zone so try not to do anything that throws me out of hooker zone! Otherwise I wouldn't answer my phone, my incall place is in a very small town an hour from where I live so don't really have the option of popping out and getting on with stuff, x

I guess it's the problem most of us have.
And there aren't that many things you can do indoors.
I've found a decent caf? literally 2 min down from mine so I'll start going there for a break and can still make it back quickly. But obviously I can't go more than once a day.
But Ive noticed that yes, it is important not to stay locked in the flat 12 hours a day. It's just not good for our heads.

I agree, locked in my incall place for more then 5 hours is awful, i try to get my bookings close together or pre booked is good because you know where you stand in advance, I take my dog to work sometimes and walk him if the weather is good but he started barking and crying when I was with clients so he has been banned from coming with me!

Oh gosh Nia lol!!!! So much for having your doggy with you lol!!!!
Well spring is coming so nice weather to pop out for a short walk!!! Bright sun etc. However I popped out yesterday lunchtime, not wearing anything outrageously sexy, just standard casual and guys were just crazy turning and smiling (ok, my boobies do attract attention). So I guess it's a good season for a walk but also a good season for work lol!

When I was working and sharing a flat with a couple of other girls in London we had this lovely coffee shop with free wifi literally a minute away.

So we used to sit there every day with our laptops, writing new ads, adultwork blogs and generally scheming!!  8)

Even the name of the place was absolutely perfect, it was called Hookah Lounge!

I started doing incalls about 2 months ago because of the income potential- just being in one place letting clients come to you really allows you to maximize your time.  At the same time I started taking online nutrition classes b/c I wanted to have something interesting and productive to do between clients or on slow days.  I have all week to take the designated course and test so I don't feel pressured on those crazy days when I'm booked solid from noon til 10.  I really like to learn and plan to also take language courses online in my spare escorting time.

If I've finished the courses already and have free time I'll do my accounting, bum around online or stalk Craigs List Honolulu and daydream haha.

A really good website for online courses is called coursera.org it's free and they have loads of courses on everything you can think of. The courses are partnered with universities around the world and for a lot of them you get a certificate once you've completed it. One that I did on pharmaceuticals had weekly quizzes, video lectures, homeworks and journal articles to read.

This sounds really interesting, Alice!

I spent a bit of time yesterday exploring duolingo and I really think that studying a foreign language will be best for me. I've got French, German and Italian started on there. But I am sort of torn between wanting to learn Italian (new to me) and improving my French. I think I will do both.

Language study appeals to me because it can be done in small chunks here and there, and in fact that's probably the best way to learn language.

If you have iTunes that you've got plenty of free podcasts for learning languages.
At least there used to be plenty last I used them 2 years ago:)

I am just like others, if I'm focused on doing something, whether it's DIY or even watching a film! I can't stop midway and take a booking, I feel the need to finish what I'm doing first, so end up turning bookings down, which is ridiculous! So now I try to avoid committing to doing things that will result in me turning away work.

I am lazy, and have no self discipline, so online courses will be a money down the drain for me, but maybe when I'm older I would be more dedicated to doing them. I love the idea of doing exercise in the flat in between clients! That's a fantastic idea! I'm a serial offender for spending my day on the sofa day dreaming and on the internet, I've put on a lot of weight because of my laziness! If I could just get myself off the sofa and turn it into a regular routine - a lifestyle change - it would make such a difference!

I make no promises, lol, but I am definitely going to give this a solid try! Fingers crossed!

As for adding an idea, maybe a hobby, like art, painting, drawing, something your able to do in bits. xox

I love this site  :D

Currently doing a finance course on it

You know what, I heard so many good things about it and I've been meaning to look into it for ages! I really need to give myself a proper kick up the ass and do it!

What I ve been trying to do lately is brush up on my Maths using a free online learning platform Khan's Academy. As I've come to realise whatever mathematical knowledge I have from school is pretty sporadic and decided to start again via the Khans Academy site.

I wish I was more commited though as I go through phases when Im really good and doing it every day, to going for weeks without doing anything. :(

Me too!! As it doesn't require concentration AND makes you feel more energised.. ;)
I'm gonna have a look at that courser.org site too Alice, but I'm the same as a  lot of people on here, I'd patch the phone
if I was right in the middle of doing something (I probably would right now too until I've finished writing this lol )
So I'm gonna try and do the exercise thing first, put some good tunes on and hope for the best  ;D

As for adding an idea, maybe a hobby, like art, painting, drawing, something your able to do in bits. xox

The foreign language thing does seem to be working for me!

There are several apps that will let you practice in little chunks. I'm mostly committed to improving my French (this  means reacquainting myself with forgotten vocabulary and then improving my listening and speaking). Then, I am very slowly working on Italian - just a little bit a day.

The apps I'm using for the Italian (and French) are set up to do things 5 or 10 minutes at a time. I was going over some vocabulary on Memrise while a client was in the shower! It's all very game-like with these apps. Gaining stars or hearts or whatever for reaching small goals. And with French I am going a little further and seeking out other things I can read or listen to.

Anyway, all of this is something I can do in tiny bits here and there. Learning languages is better that way.

My working hours are usually the same each day 9-130 and 430-10 so I have time dedicated to me. A couple times per week I get my trusty wellington boots on and go for long walks, sometimes take pictures, buy fresh eggs from a farm perhaps. Have lunch at a nice pub (mandatory lol). If I didn't get out and blow away the Cobweb's I'd be in a foul mood. I'm happier and healthier for it and my appetite for nookie is quite something after walking so bookings are particularly enjoyable too lol.

I read quite a lot too. Don Quixote - Torture in the wrong hands. My friend is battling through at 20pages per day maximum. He won't give up,I'm seeing extreme male frustration here lol  I've recently read Nicholas Shakespeare The Dancer Upstairs which was a page turner and not demanding but very good all the same. Daphne Due Laurier Jamaica Inn before that was quite good too and one I'd highly recommend is English Passengers Matthew Kneale. I didn't put it down  :)

The time I spend online is mostly constructive because I limit myself these days. I wasted lots of time working at a screen and  thankfully it doesn't need to be a huge part in my life now x

My wifi is a tiny bit crap. I can watch Netflix but some days it will cut out every ten minutes.

It might not be your wifi - take the faceplate off your master socket and try plugging your router straight into the test socket for a day or two (it'll be on the right hand side).

Mine was cutting out all the time and I thought it was just general cheap wifi crapness, but having rung the supplier they couldn't see any reason for it to be intermittent and suggested the faceplate needed replacing instead. They'll want to charge you ?60-80 to send an engineer out - I got one on Amazon for under a fiver and fixed it in about two minutes :).

Another thing I do during down time is DIY :D.

As I work from my own home I have lots to be getting on with lol But I also bake cakes for various charity events, I make a lot of things on my new sewing machine and the past few weeks I've been doing a lot of charity fundraising. I could easily fit right  into the Womans Institute hahaha I never watch the tv during the day. It only goes on when hubby comes home from work which is really annoying lol And then my time is made up of looking after him while skirting around work.  I'm actually quite domesticated so never bored. I find my normal and working life blend in quite nicely. I know I'm going to get jumped on by the feminists but I like to do everything to make him happy at home then there's no need for him to go elsewhere. As us WG's know where a mans boredom can lead him  ;) So all in all I have no time to be bored xx

I have my own business that I started last summer that keeps me busy inbetween bookings but I've also just started PT sessions at the gym starting 3 days a week and then 4 and obviously I fanny about on the net aswell probably more often than I should x

Just by reading these forums can help. I learnt wat conjugate means lol  :) plus 4 other words just be researching that word. Is it bad that i didnt know what that word meant? Gosh i need to do more reading.

LOL! Don't worry - it's not a word you really run into unless you're about to conjugate a verb.

Pleased I found this thread, I'm absolutely awful at wasting time during bookings! I've known myself to have an extremely quiet 12 hour shift in the flat with all my outstanding uni work with me but by the time I'm finished I'm like 'what on earth have I done all day?'. Definitely going to start motivating myself to actually do something rather than stare into space/search random shit online/watch judge rinder.

Window of opportunity and all that.

this is  exactly me ....  i can't be  just in my hotel room ....and  when I'm outside i   have phone call if i will  half  day  on my ass nothing

I only see 1-2 clients per day which is enough for me. I also rent my flat out per hour and per day to other escorts for as many hours per day as possible so I'm rarely able to take short notice bookings. I spend a lot (about ?500/month) on advertising so that I can afford to miss out on the "are you free now" clients and still see my 1-2 per day since I'd be too bored sitting around all day waiting for the short notice bookings. When I am home, I spend a lot of time improving my chess since I'm a bit of a chess maniac. I analyse my games with software, read chess books and articles, use online lessons and a tactics trainer, do chess puzzles, watch instructional chess youtube videos etc so my rating's gone up about 400 points from average club player level of about 1500 to about 1900 since I've been escorting thanks to having lots of free time. I go to the gym, sauna and steam etc nearly every day and go to cafes to read or play chess while my flat's busy.

I've been messing about with my hair, wrapping presents, texting and annoying folk as well as opened the alcohol. Sunday is usually my busiest day, but it's dried up - again!! I wouldn't see anyone now anyway because I need to be on my A game, not tipsy xx

I don't work Sundays (and only rarely Saturdays) anyway and I've had a busy week here, but last week when it was like day release for twats on the phone I stayed at home and just ran back and forth from my flat when regulars booked, so I got all my Christmas jobs done, two spare blogs drafted for the next couple of weeks and started rejigging my work playlist. Then I forgot to save it, so that's a job for later on :).

I'm away from Sunday 27th, so I'll be spending the next couple of days between bookings getting everything I need washed and laid out ready to pack as I won't have the time (or the inclination if I'm honest) to go to my flat between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day and I can't face getting up at 5am to do it on the day.

I have binge-watched everything I could think of, my selection depends on the number of hot male actors in the show and their accent therefore atm the winner is The Originals, please do not judge.

My hair has grown a bit longer (I used to have a shortish bob) so since last weekend I have a new passion which is curling/waving it. Clients love it.

I also get those moments of organising frenzy when I start reorganising things in my bedroom and move stuff from one place to another. It often happen I misplace something in the process like my favourite working knickers and then I spend solid 24 hours putting things back to the original order so that I can find the misplaced stuff.

Updating my working playlist. Creating 1980/1990 playlist on YouTube. Stalking ex boyfriends from my teenage years on Facebook.

And the list goes on...

I set myself a challenge on Boxing day to see if I could get conversational in Spanish by February 17 - when I am going to Barcelona. Now that it's slow I am getting quite a lot of studying in and I am able to say "I'm studying Spanish since Christmas. I am going to Barcelona with my son in February and I want to be able to speak Spanish there." I've had a couple of Latin-American clients in the past week and they have been pretty impressed!

Fab you're like my role model and super hero...

Every day since March 2015 I swear to myself I'll do like you and learn Italian. Even better, I'll get some podcasts and improve my English and get this ultra-hot ultra-posh English accent. Yesssss say hello to Joseph Morgan and The Originals, Colin Firth, you name it.

Then I get my clients saying "oh but you don't have THAT MUCH of French accent!" My reply is well the reason I'm here (or ONE OF the reasons is so that once I go back home I speak PERFECT English with perfect ENGLISH accent... No one gets it really and the only person complaining is my London-born godson whom I helping with his homework and sometimes when I pronounce something he's like wtf???? Spell it out!

Right! Fabulassie here is an example for us all that you can do better than curl your hair or lose your knickers. Bloody Hell I swear I'm on it tomorrow xxxxx

Well there is. I'll go back home one day eventually/ soonish/before 2025 lol. It's already on my CV that my English is fluent, now if I can speak English with the "real" English accent (it's what we call it) it's a huuuuge advantage during job interviews. It's like a total turn on for us Frenchies lol.
I have this mimicking tendency anyway but if I could talk the BBC English I'd get a job back home tomorrow with double salary lol

Not sure if we are allowed to discuss this so please feel free to remove if it is not allowed Amy.

There is a internet company called Marketforce that you sign up to and it is basically a secret shopper thingie, for anything and everything from shopping, trains, hotels, restaurants, starbucks etc.

The money is not a lot but it does help if you have nothig major to do and you can go and do your surveys while out and about or touring.  I have made ?75 for May alone so far.  They do reimburse you to a certain amount that you spend but overall you get paid  between ?3 to about ?15 per survey depending on what it is.

Just a thought especially for ladies who tour.

I've not seen Marketforce, but I'll add in Opinionbar and Consumer Pulse too - it's not a fortune but if you can get into the habit you can definitely pile up enough to pay for Christmas, or a holiday even without the extra surveys and prize draws and whatnot.

I've read reviews on some of these survey companies. People say they often fill out a long survey (so they've given the company all the info they want) then they get thrown out as not eligible at the end so don't get paid. I think they said that about opinionbar too. Do you find they actually do pay you money?

I am not sure if that topic was here before.I just wanted to know what you doing girls between bookings. For example if you have 2-3h empty. I am reading, watching something or clean my house. I sometimes get bored if I have a lot of time between clients.   ::)

If I have more than an hour and don't have anything planned, I usually get on cam.

However I have also been known to prepare and cook my dinner in the kitchen, wearing lingerie and high heels and nothing else, because I can't be bothered to change before the next client comes  ;D

Hi,

Search the internet for more places to advertise, update my AW profile, do housework, go for a walk with my dog, if all else fails I play candycrush. I now live alone and can honestly say I'm never bored or lonely. Spose it depends on ones personality type, I don't like to be surrounded by people as I find it exhausting.

I think gone are the days of constantly having the phone ring-I dont even get Tw emails these days lol!

So there can be very long periods between action, and if you do live/work alone you can feel isolated, apart from chatting on here what ive done is remember why you are doing this, apart from making a living you are self-employed, so with all the bad sides there are some good, ie work when you want, see who you want to see (quote a silly price if you dont-whats the worse thing-they turn up lol!)but best of all, with mobiles and emails that notify you on your smartphone and you can reply you arent tied down-JUST TREAT EVERY DAY AS A DAY OFF OR HOLIDAY-and do what YOU WANT TO DO, shop, lie in the sun, potter round the house or garden, see friends-with the technology today we are never out of touch, and most genuine clients will work around YOU!

I have a home gel manicure set and I like to redo my nails every few days. I play a few Facebook games (my laptop goes with me everywhere.)

I also have a few friends in the biz who I chat with by text or WhatsApp, and talk to some civvy friends and family too.

I am quite solitary by nature so I don't get lonely but I do get bored! If I'm on tour and the phone isn't ringing then I'll try to find something to do/see nearby. My default activity is to go for a walk preferably near a body of water where I can feed some geese, ducks, or swans. If I'm in a city with a lot of hotels then I sometimes go out on a recce mission to see if other hotels are workable.

Internet mainly. Play games on my tablet. Facebook. Clean n tidy the house if I haven't already. If I'm really fed up n it's quiet n I need to go out I will do. What I find most annoying is after waiting for hours and no one calling the minute I decide to go out and I'm on the bus or in the middle of my shopping it gets manic until I'm home again and then it goes back to being quiet. Generally I find I can't do anything really constructive as it's like you've all said, I can't concentrate and if I'm enjoying what I'm doing too much then the last thing I will want to do is stop for a booking. I listen to audiobooks a lot. I have watched TV but generally don't until I've finished for the day. I watch in the evenings, not really a daytime TV fan n can't concentrate enough on catching up with my fave progs I've recorded either. Cos if a punter calls it ruins it n I have to fuck about freshening up for them leaving my prog half watched. I'd rather watch later when my phones off. I did sunbathe in my stockings, etc for a half hour between a booking that cancelled. That was nice....the sun, not the cancelled booking! I do get fed up thinking I'm wasting so much time generally doing sod all everyday though, just waiting for the phone to ring and hoping it's a genuine booking.

Hello (hope I post this in the right place, not sure if its a question/answer post?) so here goes....

So suppose most of us know that feeling, You have woke up and do all the usual things like breakfast, shower etc etc and then your ready for work (not unless you have pre booked appointments, which is a 'rare luxury for me these days') feeling positive, with the feeling of 'yeah its a new day, chance to earn some much needed money, bring it on!  :) '

You are then pretty much waiting by the phone. You are ready to 'spring' into action sort of speak but a day can seem like a long time. I think its a horrible feeling, as you feel you cant do or plan anything, it is classed as 'work' well thats what I think so really gets to me, playing the waiting game and not getting paid  :( so what does everyone do during this time? I feel like I should be doing something. Just curious what people do with their 'spare' time while waiting for work. I try to be productive like keep updating my profiles and checking emails etc but cant lie, does get to me as feel like I should be doing more and that I am failure for not getting any work for the day.

Webcamming, phone chat, filming movie clips for AW, taking new pics for your private gallery, blogging, other household stuff...or how about a last minute tour? I once had no internet at home for a few days so couldn't cam or do much ( my mobile internet is shit ) so I booked a hotel in a nearby town and got 2 one hour last minute bookings, more than I would normally get as I don't do incalls. Even moving somewhere different for the day can find new customers and you can book day rooms with free cancellation so if you get a booking you don't have to go.

HTH! xx

So I work anything from 1-4 hours a day but i feel so isolated? ???

I have so much free time but im genuinely bored so being free, I'm 20 and went from working in recruitment to escorting.

Any suggestions on things to do in my free time?

Also if anyone is in Essex or London and wants  to be friends that would be fab xx ;D

This work can be very isolating, it's a big problem. Especially if you've been used to working in an environment with colleagues to chat to, etc.

I would definitely suggest making some friends who also do sex work. I have met several friends through SAAFE and it definitely keeps me sane speaking to them! Ranting about the crappy bookings and raving about the good ones :)

When I'm not busy with bookings I generally webcam via AW as it's good to have credits coming in to help pay for my advertising on AW.

I tour constantly now but when I worked from home I started volunteering one morning a week with an animal charity. It was a great way to meet people (and kittens!) and I felt that I was giving something back from my privileged position.

Hey,

So I've been escorting just over a year and I'm starting to feel like I'm stuck in a rut. I get up later then intended (about 10-11am), sit in my pjs until about 2-3pm reading through aw emails/admin you know the drill. Then I just watch netflix while constantly checking my aw emails/phone wondering what to do with my day.

Usually I don't even know what I'm doing with my day until about 3-4pm then the day is basically over. So what do you girls do in your spare time between bookings? Do you have daily routines to keep you sane?

I've tried having dedicated days off use to be Tuesday and Wednesday so I could just get up and get on with my day but I always felt I was missing out on potential bookings. I just don't know what to do with all this spare time, my other friends work 9-5 jobs. I just feel like I'm wasting precious time sat here doing nothing ??? But also don't know how to get out of this rut. Thoughts?

With dedicated days in mind, why not put your name down for a voluntary shift somewhere nearby? Preferably for a cause that interests you and something that’ll get you up and out in the morning? Or even a part time class with something to work towards outside of escorting? Find something that interests you and enquire locally to see about groups you could join.

I study, work and care for family outside of this and now at a point where I don’t know how I’m going to fit whoring in! I generally only work one or two days a week so any time between bookings is actually a welcome rest for me. If you’re worried about missing bookings, is webcam an option for you?

I don’t know if I’m the best to give advice as my situation is a bit different but hopefully you find something that works for you. X

Title: Re: Things To Do (Besides Dusting Your Phone) When You Are Bored

When no longer doing a 9 to 5 type of job where you need to be on a train or in the car by 8pm to get to work etc etc, it can seem a real treat not to have to get up early but then if a rut sets in with later and later nights and very late mornings, the day can be gone before you know it, bookings or no bookings.

While I am not a 6am riser like some ladies I do ensure I am up and about by 8am or thereabouts and whether I have bookings in the diary or just a day of availability I make sure my in call place is spick and span and ready for anything. Not all sps have families they are close to or living nearby and not all have the enthusiasm to take up hobbies or activities but going outside and even just walking, is better than lazing around indoors feeling sluggish and wishwashy.

Everyone is different and motivated by different things. I can quite happily visit a small museum and be by myself, something which could horrify another person!

Make the most of the summer weather and find your nearest tourist attraction, go and explore it or even take off more time and visit neighbouring cities. This I have done as had the time not afforded when I had a fixed hours job. I have probably seen more interesting landmarks and buildings than I ever would have without escorting.

Hope something there which sparks interest!

I already tell you about the things I do in my spare time between reservations:

1) I make DREAMCATCHER DIY guided Crochet fabrics on youtobe

2) I make blankets, ponchos, crocheted

3) I paint pictures in graphic art

4) I do many crafts that I find on the internet

5) I read books

6) I see documentaries of all kinds: history, science, mysteries
:
7) I give a tour of the second-hand businesses of my town

8) Invention and make cooking things

9) I practice English to speak and read it better

10) I have created two groups on facebook: one of mysteries and sciences and another for and only Women

11) Almost every day I try to go out for a half hour walk ..

And every time there are always more things to do that time is not enough for me, although if sometimes I do not deal with clients in a day, I never get bored ... !!!

You could practice a new language: I plan to learn French after learning English better ...

Try to see what things you would like to do, because life is one.
PS: "Time is money, who loses it, loses a treasure" is a typical phrase of my country .... Blessings

Thank you for that, I empathise...
Recently I wake up 9am, which is late and doesn't help with going to sleep early.
I feed the cat and have a coffee. Read emails. Read Saafe. Another coffee. Some news. More admin. Breakfast. Why not a third coffee? Here we go.
I take a shower when booking comes up. Coffee. Admin.
If there's more bookings, I feel bad, because I'm behind with admin.
If I'm doing admin, I feel bad, because I'm not working.
Either way, I end my days frustrated.

My daily routine is an autopilot, it's bad.
I know that I should wake up and start the day with a shower and a meditation, but once I make this first coffee and start with internet, it's just downhill.
I could give you plenty of good advice but I would be a hypocrite in doing so.

Nice to read that others have more eventful and organised lives!  :)

Definitely sounds like your more organised then me! xx

In the ancient days we couldn't leave the house as phones were plugged indoors.Mobile phones mean we shouldn't have to wait for anyone.
Get out in the fresh....walk your imaginary dog.
Stare at people's real life dogs.
Do some hoola hoop in the sun.
Take your lunch outside and people watch.
Mix up a smoothy and slurp it down the street
Make your lunch and eat it under a tree.
Time passes quicker and in no time you get a job and you're fresh and bouncy.
That's what I do...waiting's lethal. ;D

I'd love to but it's the kiss of death for the minute I leave the hotel room or my apartment.
I go into a completly different mode.
I have to gear myself up and keep going indoors. Once I've collected over my budget on tour I head out. I watch utube and documentary usually at the start of the day.
Bank the cash depending on time of day and treat myself to a meal.

I'm bumping this since a lot of us will be sitting around indoors doing not much, even though it's maybe not quite the same as waiting for bookings. Inbetween trying t'ai chi for a change from yoga and batch cooking I am:

Knitting cleaning cloths (which I did anyway, but I'm doing more of them now because I'm cleaning everything more and changing them more often); you can buy pure cotton yarn online easily and there are loads of different dishcloth patterns. I mark them with different coloured scraps for different things* and you can wash them out between uses and sterilise them in the microwave.

I'm also rummaging through all the old bags and boxes of crap I have and I found loads of hotel mini soaps and stuff, so if I start running low I can eke things out for a while :)

*for example, anybody who has ever been a cleaner knows that red cloth is toilet cloth :D

Did a food box for an aquaintance who'd escaped to the UK from holiday by the skin of their teeth and no idea that the supermarkets were empty. Enough for a couple basic meals.

I also rang an also self employed friend who has just lost all the work he had lined up for the next few weeks that he's already bought materials for, and we've arranged to watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles together via Skype tomorrow :).

Here stateside there’s a well known fabric store (Joanne’s) & if you sew🧵at all they’re giving away the materials to make approved face masks, for free, curbside. Just stitch them up & drop’em back off; I’m going to do this today. I’m on tour but will find the nearest store, grab some & work on them in between the few calls I’m having. Keep my hands busy & feel like I’m helping out in some way, at least.

Sorry, should’ve added that this of course is due to the shortages bc of Covid 19.

I was organising my room and in one bag have loads of tea bags from all outcall visits now i made sure they are within date. I don't need to worry about heading to shop to get tea bags only to get there and there is none cos of panic buyers. I also I have plenty supply also hotel soaps too.

Whipped out the xbox and been playing games. Anyone who is into such that is an option too.

I’ve also quietly been taking ONE roll of toilet🚽paper🧻from each hotel I’ve been staying at, because I don’t know what to expect when I get home🏠. All the stores were completely out when I left, & I thought well, this is an excellent way to stock up.
I’m not being greedy, just the 1 roll & lord knows it’s the cheap stuff, but I figured I might be grateful for it down the road.

Yes I do the same way before this pandemic, when on a visit to upmarket hotel for outcall they always have more than two loo roll so I take one home with me for backup incase I run out. I now have a reasonable amount of fancy loo roll from fancyr hotels.  ;D

I stopped taking things from hotel hospitality trays a while back, out of realisation of the effect on the environment - plastic waste etc. Instead took my own little bottles and only used what I needed out of the supplied toiletries.

I do have a collection from prior to this, and plain soap is not in short supply.

I don't remember ever seeing hotel toilet rolls or soap wrapped in plastic. The soaps I have are in little cardboard boxes.

Back on topic,
Here stateside there’s a well known fabric store (Joanne’s) & if you sew🧵at all they’re giving away the materials to make approved face masks

If anybody else is short of things to do, I found a pattern for face masks here a few days ago: which I'm going to have a go with: craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/. I'm not daft enough to think they're any help at keeping out germs but in my experience of wearing them in civvy situations they really help to stop.you from touching your face :).

Prossie link: you can use dried out wet wipes as the core, and I'm pretty sure I can rustle up some of those :D

My house is cleaner than it has ever been in my life, and I've actually started to enjoy gardening (God help me! :FF ) I've always been working through all the books that were on my 'to-read' file, and started painting. I imagine it's a good time to pursue something creative....

Good morning all. So now we have loads more time for ourselves  has anyone started to do more for themselve.  Now o have more time I am picking up on my old beauty regime.

This morning I'm doing my green tea homemade facial and then my red light mask. I am a bot of a need for reading up on anti aging, Natural beauty and supplements. And now I have time to pamper myself. Honestly I was getting burned out from entertain with escorting, Put on a few pounds and started to look tired.

Think it would be uplifting to share the positives of having time home and for ourselves.

I don't know about anyone else but since I started escorting I stopped dating and only had paid sex for the whole time which was a year. So I've set up a date with a ex lover and plan on using him for my sexual pleasure lol. So I'm excited to do normal stuff again. Not that I miss online dating just I was worried a guy would find out what I did.

And yes my house is also the cleanest its been in a long time.

I may end up getting too lazy to go back to escorting. I don't think people realise how much hard work and mental and physical juggling we do. I have to maintain two properties and be home every night because of my kids plus find time to see friends.

I moved into a house that needed renovating a few weeks ago.
Now the workmen can't come round I'm living in a dusty building site with literally no kitchen! I have a pipe out of the wall for water and a bucket underneath it!
So I've been ordering garden tools and an incinerator for all the trees and bushes I'm going to cut down. Never thought I'd finish the garden before the house!!
Great exercise and fresh air though so something positive.

I can have some time to have a normal 'working day' for my graduate thesis, which is normally disrupted by taking calls and piddling about with checking replies to bookings and so on, very distracting. I also am umming and arrhing about whether to spend my evenings re-indulging in PC strategy games, learning French or catching up on my BFI subscription.  Making face-masks sounds like a fun idea too. I am also decided to treat it as a belated dry January and maybe do a bit of Yoga, treat the whole self isolation/none escorting as a bit of 'retreat'.

God I love a jam tart :)

I couldn't get eggs at all last week, so I made scones. This week I managed to get a dozen, and so far I've made pancakes (one egg made two days worth) and after my friend mentioned it yesterday I'm going to have a go at some pasta and noodles.

I'm in danger of turning into a cave monster having not shaved my legs in three weeks and giving my hair a complete rest from blowdrying. It's fab :D

Im just wondering what to do now as I am unable to see clients at all and phone chat has gone dead.
What are you all planning to do instead
Apparently we are only allowed out to exercise for hour and take few trips that are necessary.
I was going to upload more private gallery shots and main free gallery as I'd ordered some lovely new lingerie which hasn't arrived at bravissimo :FF
I will try meditation and listen music to switch off bored as hell.
Worried like crazy as I'm sure many ladies are too.
I can see me cancelling my June tour also for Yorkshire .
I hope you will all be well keep safe x

I would plan for not escorting or doing much online before September, and then afterwards men could be skint or unemployed. TBH, I would think about alternative employment, even if it's just temporarily, or if you have some savings/can claim UC and aren't in a vulnerable group yourself or lock downed with someone who is, perhaps considering volunteering. But lots of supermarkets, pharmacies, farms etc. looking for workers.

I have tried to offer phone chat but been asked to get re verified which in my case mean go out, buy newspaper and stand outside of the post box  :FF

Few regs opted for email, sms chat. Webcam is crap for everyone.

I will be working on my own website. Cannot see any future on adultwork but I may be just pessimistic.

Have you tried AW customer service chat about this, I got the box asking me to reverify when trying to add webcam and other services. When I tried to the form didn't make sense, so I went onto the help chat - advisor told me I didn't need to reverify and fixed it so I could add the options.

Yes I did, but online chat wasn't available at that time. I will try to offer phone chat outside of adultwork first. Now doing back up for my profile in case adultwork decide to remove escorting options and we all have to get re verified again.

I haven't worn anything apart from pyjamas in nearly a month apart from sticking a pair of old joggers on to nip to Tesco, which I've done twice. I'm wondering how long it's going to take me to put on a set of lingerie when I next do a booking, since I can't even remember when I last wore a bra :D

Wondering what girls are up to during this pandemic, hope everyone's doing ok considering the current mood

I spent a few months abroad and just returned a few days before lockdown, was planning to finally go full pro like registering as self-employed, getting an official playspace, I used to do random weekends at hotels.
Just realised I have a bill that's nearly 2k due in about 10 days lol, I'd usually escort my butt out but I'm literally out of ideas here, guess I'm sort of paralysed by the lockdown and need to find motivation asap
