Hi,

I'm Melissa P and just joined the site.

Ex lurker - main reason being I never thought I had anything worthwhile to post.  I probably still don't, but I wanted to join as I felt bad just reading and not contributing where I could (I'm crap at giving advice so probably won't be contributing as much as I'd like to, mind you)

Have been in the business for quite a long time, but there is always something new to learn in this industry!! Hence why I jumped on board and hope I can get/give help and advice.

Fully independent, based in London, mature escort, friendly and laid back but tend to worry too much about lack of business. This board helps me look at things more realistically and focus on the things I can change whilst casting aside those things that I CANNOT change, no matter how hard I try.

There is such a great community spirit here, and for people who don't have much of a support network (like moi !!), this place is a godsend. Especially when it comes to putting things into perspective (I'm not very good at that ... tend to dramatise everyting), not taking myself or things too seriously and bottom line, not feeling so alone.
It's nice to read views and experiences from other WG's, as the feeling of isolation in this job, unless you have friends inside/outside the business, can be very scary indeed.

Kisses

Melissa P.

Welcome to SAAFE Melissa.

This says it for me Melissa.  We can all learn.  Sometimes we have to stick the hanky in our gobs and say nothing while others talk.  We can all learn from the newbie to the forum, whether they have been in the business for two weeks or twenty years.  OK we know that the femme with twenty years experience will have learned more but she will also have had time to forget some too.

Never feel alone on the board.

Hi everbody! Just put in an introduction and something went wrong with my internet connection  :FF. Another attempt:
I am Melanie, 37 years old from Amsterdam. Have been lurking here for so long now that I started to feel like a peeping tom ;-).

In Holland we don't have a forum like this unfortunately. It's great reading all those familiar topic. Especially the one called: you know you are an escort when.... haha! Hilarious and so familiar!!

In daily life I have an office job and obviously nobody knows what I do on the side. 12 years ago I started working for an agency in Amsterdam, worked mainly the weekends from 9pm until 5 am. Escpecially after midnight the clients got more difficult. I stopped for a while and now have been doing mainly incalls (am independent). Sometimes I get requests to see someone in a hotel. But usually it's incalls.
This year is the first year I will be working in December and I am curious if I will get requests for an incall on lets say 25 December. I have been reading here on the topics about working at Christmas, apparantly there are mixed experiences. Anyway, it's so much fun to read all the posts here. It makes me feel what I am doing (and enjoying a lot) is not so weird as society tries to portray it is.
In my opinion it's an honest business. Nobody is deceived and I just provide a service.

Hello Ladies,

I am new too. Just started from Oct this year. I am in my mid 30s, in Cambridge area.

I found this site is very useful and the ladies here are so helpful. Posted one question so far but got a few useful reply. Thank you all.

I didn't know this site is worldwide. I thought it was only used by UK until I saw some of the posts.

Hello Ladies,

I've just started off, thankful for the site, so I can share my experience. Feeling a little deflated however as I have set up my AW profile and put up wicked pics yet no clients?? Not real ones anyway just guys taking the p***. Is it the wrong time of year? I would like to hear how everyonelse is getting on? Is it quiet generally?  thanks
Sienna : )

Welcome to the forum Sienna.

As you have sussed out this is the worst time of year to start, what with one thing and another.

Things should pick up in March and get better from then on.  Anything up to then is a bonus.

We are here for each other when/if we have something to ask.  Though there are two SEARCH boxes in order that you can do a search to see if someone has asked a similar question before you.

I hope things pick up for you and you manage to get some business in.

In the meantime, have you looked at the main site two or three times, that way you should pick up on many different things.

Good Luck. xx

Hi All.

I bumped into an old working girl friend of mine today and we got chatting ( i got out last year) and she told me about this site so i looked in and registered.

i worked parlours and my own flat as an independent before believe it or not marrying one of my former clients. and now settled down. although i hate where we live im now enjoying life and have a little one on the way  :). reading through some of the threads on here is incredible how much it has changed and well done on the ugly mugs scheme i met a few of those in my time i can tell you. so just to wish you all good luck and lots of good paying clients and i will log in and see how things are as you never know i may need to come back.

take care all. Hugs. Abbey
Glad ive got out the game if what you girls are going through now is true.

I would like to introduce myself.....

I have just found out about this site from one of my girlfriends who introduced me to Saafe not long ago. I must say i am happy that there are girls that i can talk to about my work life as it is difficult to talk to other people about being an escort and the problems that come with the job sometimes.

I love this forum, i wish i knew about this forum many years ago. Working girls need to know that we are not alone in this industry, that there are others in the same shoes as us and are willing to give advice in helping other girls out.

I am soo happy i found out about saafe and i am still learning on how to use this forum properly, but im sure i will learn more as i get use to it.

I am looking forward in getting to know other girls on the forum and i just want to say i love the way girls help each other out .

Speak soon

Love Nadz  :-*

Hi everyone,

Took the plunge today and put an ad on adultwork as I'm in desperate need for cash and think I'd be quite good at this as jobs go.

I've been reading posts for the last couple of days and am so thankful for all the lovely ladies here taking the time to post and give advice and support, and that I found this before I started escorting.

I'm just really hoping I get some clients as I'm aware this is the worst time of year to start, so ya know fingers crossed.

xx

Hi everyone,

I'm a late twenty-something pre-op transsexual woman from Coventry.  I've been doing incalls and the occasional outcall as an independent since July.  I got started because I'd been off work for a long time with mental health problems (PTSD and depression) and it had got to the point where I was fed up of being miserable and doing nothing at home while eating up my life savings and I really wanted to get out in the world and do something.  Sex work seemed the ideal thing because I found that I could concentrate on physical activities easier than the intellectual stuff that I used to do.  And by keeping my work levels light I could still earn a reasonable bit of cash as a bit of business on the side for not many hours work and leave plenty of time free for resting and nursing my mental health.  In retrospect it probably wasn't the smartest thing to be getting into when I was so vulnerable.  But hey, I survived and am still here, still doing lots of therapy and still not well enough to do any job for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, but am recovering and in the process of transitioning to doing the work as, "Just another job", and away from the crap that I had going on in my head last summer (like the intense self-esteem peaks and troughs of being a woman who was sexually desirable to men for the first time, i.e. the joys of going through puberty for the second time.  Been on estrogen for almost 2 years now.)

I've been lurking here for a while now.  I discovered SAAFE when I was doing my background research before deciding to enter the job and found the information pages really useful.  So hey, keep up the good work and nice to meet everybody. :)
