Hi Sadie!

Good for you!  With the Government disrupting this at the moment its a good time.  I think many of the clients are feeling safer using indies.  I know we have noticed a drop off in parlour business because of it.

Are you planning to do out-calls or get yourself a flat?

Hi Sadie!

There is lots of good advice on the forum but do read the main site too if you haven't already - there is plenty of information for new indies on there and we're here to fill in the gaps! Welcome to SAAFE  :D

Goodness. They are all coming out of the woodwork of late! Hiya...

Coming out of the woodwork indeed!  Tis more polite though I'm sure you'd agree?   ;D

Thanks Amy, I've read a fair bit of the info.  But there is so much!!  Taking yonks to get through it all....but I'll get there.

Thanks cindy and Trafford for the welcome.

Madam Becky....quite agree that indie work seems to be on the increase.  My work at the agency had pretty much ground to a halt.  So I braved and quit yesterday!

I've joined AW.  Seems like the easiest first step.  Although its the most goddamn slow site!  (maybe I shouldn't complain about that....)

I'm doing outcalls and incalls.  Incalls from my own flat until I get a working flat.  I'm refusing to see anyone with no feedback (rightly or wrongly, but its a small precaution that I just felt like taking)  Being careful when taking clients for incall.  Got good security.    All good so far!  Apart from the timewasters and fannies who clearly don't even bother to read my list of 'likes'.  Grrrrr

Hello! :D Don't worry too much about the timewasters and fannies - when you first join Adultwork, you're flagged as 'New' so that service seekers can sign up to be alerted to new profiles and presumably then try their hardest to take advantage of someone who might be naive and unsure of themselves. It's a fairly gross practice but some more savvy sex workers can use it to their advantage by deleting their profiles and making new ones regularly to get the free publicity of New-ness, so I guess it evens itself out with oddness on both sides! Jolly good. ::) Anyway, you probably know more than me about this as my brain tends to shut down somewhat whenever I go on Adultwork - think it must be self-preservation against the latest ?20-for-bareback-with-closeup-fanny-pictures profiles all over it!

Ahhhh there's a tip!!  No I didn't know that you could delete your profile, make a new one and be 'New' again!!  Thanks for that.  Might just do that in the future.

Have to agree that some of the stuff on AW is VILE.  Makes me despair......are these women for real?!!!
'fuck me barebak in ne hole i luv it so will u only ?20 for today'   :-X

Saying that, the clients I've met through AW have all been lovely so far.  But I'm in a city in Scotland so maybe I'm just generally going to have a bit more success with AW than if I was in a small town?  Actually thats a question to any Scottish ladies who are Edinburgh/Glasgow (or indeed anyone!)......how quickly should I get a website set up and running?  Where do you get most interest from/least TW's and fannies, personal sites or profiles?

Should I wait and get a proper web-designed website rather than bash on and do it myself?  I'm in this game for the long-haul so maybe I'm answering my own question?!!  It undoubtably will be better to get a proper website done?  Or did  anyone actually enjoy setting up their own site?

xx

Hey gals and guys!

Just want to introduce myself and say a massive thank you for such a great website.  It has been my guide these past few months and has helped me immensely in my decision to become an escort.  Its amazing that there are so many of 'us' out there.  I say 'us' cos i'm not worthy yet to include myself in this as i havent had a client yet! I'm still deciding on photographers and which website to go with.

I cant wait to get started though!

Big hugs  xxx

Ahhhh there's a tip!!  No I didn't know that you could delete your profile, make a new one and be 'New' again!!  Thanks for that.  Might just do that in the future.

Please note that I didn't mean that deceiving punters is a good idea! Consequences can range from causing them annoyance to them to possibly provoking one into god knows what behaviour towards you. At the very least, you might well get some very angry feedback calling you a fake which will put off even the potential clients who don't care whether you're new or not.

Time for my favourite icky anecdote :P: I had a second agency 'madam' (bit like the one in Secret Diary, actually, except totally scatty and disorganised) for a short time (due to her dreadful clientele) a while ago and she encouraged said clients to think I was brand new to the industry. Meant I ended up trapped in an apartment with a round little man who wanted bareback and was willing to wrestle with me to try and get it, while squealing, "It's very small, you'll hardly notice!" :-X Then when I escape his clutches and set him straight about No Bareback You Creep, he called the madam to complain self-righteously that I was not new.

Also, this industry could do with a lot less deception in general. I think the best route for an indie is to be ridiculously honest in all their advertising - that way, clients are happier and that means your working life is a whole lot easier. :)
