Stress and settling in a new country
« on: 09 March 2022, 12:21:09 pm »
Hello everyone,

It has been quite some time since I posted in here. I recently re-located to Australia, and things are not looking good for me. Stress has become a predominant sensation lately, my ad is up and except dangerous individuals, time wasters and fantasy client I had no requests at all.
Yes, I am freaking out. A friend told me it was too early to make up an opinion as it as been only two days. But by that time I would have expected at least few enquiries?
How do you settle and work in a new city? How long will it take to get work same as home?
Xxx

Quit stressing you are in the best country (I am going back next week). Why don't you do a couple of days in a brothel as there are plenty over there and all legal so not a problem, that way you can build up your indie clients without all the stress and worry of not having any cash coming in. GL x

Hi there thanks a lot for answering my post. I am independent, I might try the brothel path actually it might be a good idea, but I don’t think they are that busy, but I cannot even get $1 by myself, literally no bookings although I paid a lot on advertisement.

Sorry you’re struggling to settle, but you need to give it time - if you still haven’t received any calls two months later, then yes, you’re right to be concerned, but after two days, I think you’re worrying a little prematurely.

It is worth considering that spending money on advertising does not always translate into bookings or even enquiries. If you’re not so much as getting a single nibble, then it is more likely that your ads, copy and pictures aren’t right, but, this isn’t the case, you’re just not getting the clients you want. Look at this as a positive; all the time wasters and undesirables are getting themselves out of the way now, so the genuine clients will soon follow.

Easy for me to say I know, but just hang on there, the tide will turn in your favour.

I think maybe the brothel idea a couple of days a week would definitely be worth it as it's better than nothing  ;).

Where in Aus are you
I’ve been there touring not in recent years
But I found Perth & Brisbane the best cities for me
I had two phones one for new papers and one for websites
I can’t remember the sites that i use
I think the forum punter planet private girls for Perth and
A different website for Brisbane - Gold Coast
Once I had figured out my advertising and worked out what worked I was really really busy
But this was several years ago so things have probably change
