So who watched Jeremy Kyle this morning??
« on: 19 November 2010, 06:41:01 pm »
Talking about UK sex workers?

For those that didn't see it and want to watch, i have posted the link below for it on Iplayer.

http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=191221

I saw it, and thought it was a well balanced programme and the escort section gave a pretty good account of what my experiences have been so far, although i never dress like that for my appointments!.

I wondered what everyone else thought of it?

If anyone has a blackberry please contact for my PIN

Yeah, it was interesting to see what other sex workers (indoor, indie-types) do/wear! So funny to see her laptop sitting there with Adultwork up and Jeremy peering at it like it was the freakiest thing he'd ever heard of. Then I spent a good few minutes wondering whether I should rush out and buy some horrible PVC stuff - don't want to be left behind!

Thought it was a bit rich when JK pretended to be gobsmacked at how many porn sites there are. Oh, Jeremy. Really? ::)

The bit at the start where that rather terrified woman from China (?) was sitting on the bed and the next punter arrived (for his ?50 shag?!) and walked right into the raid was a bit strange. What a pillock. I felt sorry for the woman; she seriously did NOT ask to be on some stupid morning talkshow and of course they obscured her face but any number of people could recognise the premises/situation. For example, I've already heard that the posh-looking parlour recognisably belongs to a certain very popular MK "brand" of incall flats, so I doubt anyone on that show really achieved any sort of proper anonymity at all. Was there or will there be any sort of follow up to the raid?

I saw it this afternoon and thought the same as you  ;D

Believe it or not some girls on anther site thought it showed us in a bad light that the ex porn star was saying how degrading the porn industry is but I pointed out that if thats how she felt she was better off quitting as she did and not all women who work feel they have a choice  :(

I know extremely little about parlours, or trafficking so I can't really give an opinion on that part of the program...
I can however share my opinions on the escort, Terri? if that was her name, she was awful! I'm not sure where she works but if the in thing is those disgusting boots, I would rather loose business...
Then again she seems to make more money than I do at the moment so she must be doing something right... not right enough to afford a less cheap wig unfortunately it seems...

For some reason it agitated me to be honest, there is a lot of waiting around but she has portrayed us as sitting around in our cheap wigs, PVC clad and waiting to do anything for money, I don't know how to articulate what annoyed me which is frustrating!
Nobody knows what I do other than one friend, but imagine if some one watched that and had an image of an escort based on that... if that some one then found out i did this, that image is exactly what makes this a taboo...

Sorry its so rambled!

I hate watching shows about my job. They always have to make it look dirty and dark and its not always like that but thats the stigma I guess. God I hate the media.

I saw most of it as someone called me to let me know about the program.  I found the program deeply annoying because of the mock outrage of Kyle.  He is a very hypocritical and nasty piece of work.  I would never appear on a show hosted by him regardless of the subject matter.

I feel dirty just thinking about downloading one of his programmes.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

 ;D

If this guy would ever book me (without me realising beforehand it was him) or I have knowledge of him seeing someone, it would really be very hard to stick my principles of never abusing client confidentiality!  Then again moral hypocrites are probably some of our best clients.  I bet Tory MPs keep this industry afloat and apart from Boy George, these upright family men are a massive source of income to the gay escorts I know!

Just watched it - thanks for the heads up! I admit to occasionally watching Kyle's morning talk shows. I think he can be quite good on those, but this programme was horrendous. He was so unbelievably prejudiced and judgmental, e.g. when he sneeringly asked one of the escorts why she didn't 'walk straight out that door' when she saw children's toys on the floor of a client's house! It really doesn't help when someone like Jeremy Kyle puts across such an unbalanced view of our industry.

  • Jeremy Kyle: Will you take us through to one of your bedrooms
  • I'll follow you, is that all right?
  • Escort:  Thats fine, wanna hold my hand?
  • Jeremy Kyle: No, certainly not!
This is show business just to get ratings, nothing more.
He's not like that when he does his "special thing" really intensely, to get me up.
He is actually really lovely when you get to know him, on a one to one private basis.

I don't think he reads these boards though, and I won't mention this thread to him
if we get together for a cappuccino at my local deli.
next Thursday.

Oh, it's ok, I'm sure.
He is not a client of mine.
I think of him as someone I trust
and dare I say it, I have feelings towards.

It'll be Kyle/Kilroy or Kyle/Clarkson slash fiction next...

It doubtless already exists somewhere, but I really do not want to see it :)

Adjective

salubrious (comparative more salubrious, superlative most salubrious)

   1. Promoting health or well-being; wholesome. Especially related to air.

I never knew Jez cared. He referred to 'this salubrious industry' at least twice in the first few minutes of his 'in depth' expose. Or could it be that he's as ignorant and ill educated as his regular viewers.

I have to admit at this juncture I couldn't watch any more of this 'doff doff' bilge after the lady in a crap PVC dress and revolting red boots called herself a high class escort and tried in an inarticulate way to claim their was a difference between the terms escort and prostitute  ::) I am actually, believe it or not Mr Kyle, proud of what I am and reclaim the title of prostitute, so there  :D

Was it just me or did her 'calls' seem a bit contrived? I must be a bit picky as I have to at least speak to a client for a couple of minutes to implement my vetting procedure? As for the second call, time waster anyone? I get at least 5 calls a week from numpties like that.  Regrettably on occasion 3 or 4 a day.

If I thought that there was any real point to the programme I might have watched more but I have a weak stomach and a life  ;)
