Hi girls, got called a slut today by a client, he didn't mean it in a derogatory way (don't think anyway) but i didn't like it! I also don't like being called a WG or a prostitute either!! What do you class yourselves as? X

I don't 'class' myself as anything - I have sex with people for money, therefore I am a prostitute. If I made bouquets and wreaths for a living, I'd be a florist, and if I mended cars I'd be a mechanic. I don't see the link with 'slut' though - I would have thought that was a fairly sexist and derogatory term for those who were shagging lots of people for free (although the punter probably just thought it was sexy :)).
Anything other than prostitute is just a euphemism for it and whilst euphemisms can be helpful occasionally, in my experience those occasions are extremely rare.

I agree. I prefer prostitute. It leaves no doubt, which is very useful in certain situations.

I call myself a hooker - don't like being called a prostitute or escort - but its all the same difference in the end, lol!

I'd much prefer escort to hooker or prostitute! Escort sounds classy, hooker/prostitute to me sounds trashy and lowbrow!

I like the word "whore" not sure why, my other half HATES it with a vengeance. I have use the term sex worker when talking to my doctor or the gum clinic, my friends know me as a escort.

I like Harlot, but seeing as hardly anyone uses it then I'm not particularlly bothered, providing it isn't used in a derogatory sence. Although I can't stand it if someone uses the word Slag (whether it's derogatory or not).
If I'm describing myself to someone then I'll use escort and sometimes prostitute. I have used Harlot, wg, Whore and Slut, but the latter two are used often enough for women who don't work in the business, and causes confusion, and when I've used the first two I find myself having to explain more. Pretty much everyone knows what an escort or prostitute is.

I can't see how 'escort' sounds classy - everybody knows that an 'escort' in this context is a prostitute. I rarely escort anybody anywhere further than the door to the bedroom, and to me it just sounds like a prostitute who's ashamed of being a prostitute. There's nothing classy about that.

I couldn't care less what people call me. But I do not like people who gives themselves the tag of 'escort' and don't get me started on 'courtesan' .... names just for girls to 'BIG' themselves up on.

I call myself an escort, working girl, service provider, sex worker! All of those I am happy with. But I get upset more than angry when I get called a prossie, whore, slut, slag, cum dumpster and so on as all of those things being said to me are meant in a derogatory way. I get called those things all the time by clients I refuse to see for whatever reason x

Well it is what it is. I am standing proud of being a prozzy. If clients call me prozzy things like you explained. I will laugh it off. You know the saying. If you can't take what the game involves then leave it. Discrimination will always be there. prozzying isn't viewed upon as glamours and never will be. I reckon some guys against prozzies use us just cause they are horny. I don't care what any of them thinks negative. I'm so happy for the genuine ones who appreciate. I always do my best to concentrate on the positives in this game not the negatives.

I would not appreciate being called a slut as I do not have sex with anyone for free which is what a slut does slut is also an aspect of someones character.
However prostitute, Prozzy, floozy, hooker, whore are all terms I find acceptable and terms I use myself to describe my job. However it does not defines ones character as it is just a job. So I never say I AM a prostitute I say I work as one same as any other job.
After all when my stockings come off so does the character I play at and I m no longer in work mode but hoe mode where I am a wife and mother

I have never had a customer call me names...I have been called slut and dirty slut, only in role playing, but it didn't bother me, au contraire..Usually, if I am chatting with a customer in the downtime and I say "I am a whore, after all" in a conversation, they usually tell me off and ask me not to say that..but I don't use it in a derogatory way either...sometimes customers want to call us dirty sluts during sex just because they would never dream of doing it at home with a partner and it gets them hornier...:D

I totally second this. Yes of course I know I am prostitute and I'm not in denial at all, but I much prefer using all the first words you used. 'Escort' 'Sex worker' ect just sounds much nicer to me and I don't mind admitting that. It doesn't mean I am ashamed of what I do at all. I just don't believe 'prostitute' sounds very nice because of the way general society uses it and the type of girls they associate it with.

Prostitute wg or escort. They can call me a whore if it does it for them but I hate hate hate hooker! "Aye my mate just said to me best way to get over a divorce is get a good hooker".......made my skin crawl
