Title: Skin Tag Removal
Post by: Willow Summers on 06 June 2016, 03:02:32 pm
I have developed ugly skin tags on the point of entry to both holes. Apparently these grow when there is a lot of friction rubbing against the skin. I only discovered these when I had a few close up photos done. They are so ugly! They are now getting sore.

I'm off to the hospital next week to discuss getting them removed

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced these and what did you do about them?

Ooh, I think there was a recent thread about this, let me see if I can find it...

By the way, if you emphasise how much pain and discomfort they're causing you (rubbing on clothes, you catch them when you wipe, etc), they can't dismiss this as "cosmetic", and SHOULD remove them for free - perhaps even at your first appt.

I had one very near my hoo hah. Always dismissed as cosmetic. So one day I just cut it off with a sterilised pair of nail scissors. Hurt for an instant, bled for a bit. And I wish I'd done it years earlier.

Oh yeah, this is SO why you NEED to stress how much it is causing you pain, discomfort etc, cos if you go in saying "I hate it cos it's ugly" they are much less likely to remove it. You MUST tell them it hurts/bleeds/swells up/catches etc, so they take it seriously as a health problem.

Hahah I did the same couple of years ago on my labia area & it went fine too...I'd advise others to get the professionals to do it still, just in case  :o

i

Fishing wire does well, I used it in a tag in my breast! Whatever you choose, it's not painful :)

I've had one on my upper thigh ever since I was little, but it's never bothered me.  Then about a year ago I developed another on the skin between my pussy and backside.  It kept rubbing against my knickers, and I was debating about getting it removed, when I accidentally shaved it off.  It hurt for a day or 2, as my knickers still rubbed against the wound, but it's not grown back.  Fingers crossed I don't get anymore.

If you have a few, it's probably best getting them professionally removed, as you don't want them to get infected.

I have done this as well. Bled like a bastard but they heal up without leaving a scar.  I had one on the top inside of my thigh and one on my outside lip.

PS. I wish clients would do something about theirs!

I get sick at the site of 'bunches of grapes' hanging around ball sacks and under armpits (although that is bearable as my tongue isn't going in their armpit).

I want to reach for the scissors and a lighter!

I was surprised when I read on the NHS website that they basically recommend removing them yourself. The NHS just isn't bothered.

Yeah, it's money saving. It's a non-essential op that *could* be seen as cosmetic. That's why you HAVE to push the pain and discomfort angle. If they're regularly getting sore, they could become infected. More money for the NHS to have to spend, if that happens.

I've never had them, I have seen them on clients and have heard that you can have them removed by the NHS.

They're not interested. I thought they were horribly embarrassing. I was afraid it was a wart (because I can't see the thing, only feel it, and I once had a client freak out over it.) Nurse at GUM just said, "Nope. Just a skin tag. They're harmless." And that was that.

I find that nowadays with the NHS you have to really push for things being done, unless you insist they will try and get away with not doing anything. Years ago people could even get things like tattoo removal done for free! If you can afford it you can go to one of the 'skin' clinics and have things like that removed, you shouldn't have to though that's what we pay tax for. I can imagine in a few years time having to pay just to get a doctors appointment the way things are going  ::)

Update

They wont remove them  :(  they said they dont look inflamed, they are normal  and if they sore then use lube or numbing gel.

So, it looks like I have to do it privately. I've never gone private. Do i have to have a gp refer me?

NHS are shit   :FF

I have developed a skin tag between my bum and vagina, I have been to see the Dr and they are not concerned, but say the NHS won't remove it and any surgery would be very very painful! It is a about the size of a pea and has appeared from nowhere.

I want to try and remove it my self by tying in or using a natural remedy of some sort, any experiences of self removal which doe snot involve cutting!

I just hate the way it looks

I went to my gp only the other week to have a skin tag removed (on the knicker line), all I said was normally I wouldn't be bothered with it but it's now getting painful due to underwear rubbing. I had to wait a few weeks for an appointment but he removed it without an issue. Certainly wouldn't dare do it myself.

Also to say wasn't at all painful, numbing injection stung a little and a little uncomfortable after but wouldn't say it was painful

I have one on my bum n when I had a colonoscopy done and found out I had IBS I was really hoping they would remove it as one of the consultants said so but in the end they didn't. Gutted. Really wanted it removed. Can't do it myself in such an awkward area n it's not small. Bloody annoying thing. I thought it was piles or something, I suppose I should be relieved it's only a skin tag really.

I had a skin tag burnt off by my doctor but it came back!! Then I used this http://www.wartmolevanish.com/uk/testimonials/
and my skin tag has never returned! It goes black and then scabby for a few weeks though before falling off completely.
